[So Mu is standing somewhere fairly busy. At his feet is an ordinary cardboard box. He is staring into this box with a mix of amusement and exasperation.

The box, or something inside it is mewling.]

Well, you lot have certainly made today an interesting one, I must say. You're all making me feel terribly old.

[On the side of the box, in abhorrently poor writing, is "KITTENS".]

What've you got-- [But a second later he's close enough to see, and he laughs.]

[Guy kneels down to offer a gloved finger to the kittens.]

I think I've got my hands full with His Majesty's rappigs. What do you plan on doing with these?

[It is immediately latched onto by half the litter.]

I've no use for them. The mother is a stray and it took me awhile to catch them all.

Not a cat person I take it?

[Guy laughs and lifts one up out of the box, gentle and careful.]

I think a ginger tabby would suit you pretty well, right?

[He seems to be half addressing Mu and half addressing the orange kitten he's holding.]

I lack the time to give a cat the attention it deserves.

[omg kittens? really? She approaches, curious, her own little kitten perched happily on her shoulder. It seems just as interested as she is!]

Mu? What's this?

One of the strays around the Sanctuary gave birth some time ago. I managed to collect them all today.

[explains]

Oh I don't know, you could keep this guy-- [He flips the kitten over a second, to double check. Though man it is hard to tell when they're this young.] girl? In your pocket. She's tiny.

[He cups the finger nomming kitten in his palms.]

Did you have any idea who'd be good to give them to?

[She looks in the box.... and her eyes light up! She covers her mouth with both hands and gasps at the CUTE!!]

They're so adorable!! Do they have names? Can I pick one up? [She's kneeling beside the box now, for a closer look.]

I thought about keeping one for the little ones to look after, but I thought I could find them good homes here.

[She looks up at Mu, blinks.]

So you're giving them away? [She looks down at the kittens again, then at the one on her shoulder, and finally back to the box o' kittens... She smiles and picks one up.]

Well, maybe no one will mind another friend hanging around!

[he glances down at the box with a soft smile] Children, in my experience, often do.

Yes I am. There's far too many here for just me.

[Guy sets the one he's holding down and gently scratches the ears of another. He laughs at a thought.]

If I thought... Nah. [He shakes his head.] Had any luck yet?

[as he kneels down] You had to chase them down, I assume?

[Guy smiles sheepishly, waving a hand in front of his face as if to negate his earlier thought.]

It was a pretty awful thought. Might count under animal cruelty.

I'm surprised. Did you just get here? I'd think kittens would attract a fair number of people.

It wasn't too difficult, but it did take awhile.

[They all crowd around where the Doctor kneels down.]

[the Doctor holds out his gloved hands, letting them rub and nip at his fingers as they please]

I can imagine. They do end up in the oddest places.

[Mu sits carefully next to the box.]

Only a few minutes ago, yes.

[Guy folds his legs under him so he can meddle with the kittens as he sits facing Mu.]
