[When Sherlock Holmes hits the ground, he is in a great deal more pain than he expected, considering where he was supposed to land. He groans loudly.]

Ow! I think I missed...

[He slowly and carefully rolls himself over to his back and cautiously opens his eyes. No John to talk to and no skull either, talking to himself will have to do.]

Oh, oh... Is this death? Did I die? Oh, how disappointing. To make it that far and loose in the end. Perhaps Moriarty is right. Perhaps I am an angel.

[Then he realizes that the metallic smell and taste to the air wasn't blood. He sits up slowly, then checks himself over.]

Okay, not bleeding, that's a good start. Doesn't feel like anything's broken.

[He blinks a few times and looks around him again, he doesn't quite believe what he's seeing. He looks around him completely bewildered, taking in the sight around him.]

John was right. I shouldn't have deleted all that information about the universe.

[He slowly and carefully gets to his feet, checking to ensure his legs will support his weight, when a memory stirs.]

Oh! That shop that had appeared in Bart's! Something about my being chosen...

[He shoves his hands in his coat pockets and winces as he realizes he doesn't have his mobile. He looks around again and calls out.]

Hello?! Anyone about?

No. I mean it's a place where I store my memories. You see, we never really forget anything, we just need to find our way back to it.

But you just said you make yourself forget things.

[This is the most confusing conversation ever.]

No. I said I delete it. As I said, it's an entirely different process.

But it still involves getting rid of memories and you just said that people don't forget things- AUGH! Just forget it, it's too confusing!

[And Sherlock wins. That's all he cares about. He smiles, a bit smugly.]

Sherlock. Where are you from?

[Sherlock may have won the battle, but he will eventually lose the war. Of course, losing a war to John means becoming palhonchos, so that's not exactly a loss.

Also that is a very, very complicated question, so he'll just skip over a bunch of details to give a simple, somewhat accurate answer.]

Washington. What about you?

[Sherlock's in information gathering mode now.]

London. The state or the city?

I'm from Washington the state. The city is Washington D.C.

So I guess that means you're one of those cool British guys, huh?

[Sherlock is resisting the urge to give a swift knock to the back of John's head.]

British, yes. Male, obviously. "Cool?" I don't believe that is a word that has described me ever.

[That seems to be the standard reaction to John.]

Why not? You talk in confusing ways sometimes, but you don't really look not-cool.

Oh I look cool, I would never argue that. I thought you were referring to social interactions.

[Which he should be considered generally 'uncool."]

Well yeah, you definitely need some work on that. But that can be fixed easy-peasy.

Presuming I want to fix it, of course...

[Which he doesn't. Why would he fix something he doesn't consider broken? Or change something which might interfere with his work.]

but it would make you waaaaaaaay cooler! Who wouldn't want to be cool?

[And his expression shows that he doesn't care about how cool anyone is.]

[He is considering this.]

Well, I guess you don't have to be that cool to make friends. Friends wouldn't care about how cool or un-cool you are anyway.

I don't have friends.

[And is it any wonder. But he does have one.]

[That was definitely the wrong thing to say, Sherlock.]

[Sherlock often says the wrong thing.]

[Considering he was falling to his supposed death when the shop so rudely interrupted, all his friends will shortly think him as dead, so he won't have any.]

Well there's no way I'm going to let that keep happening!

[Yep, John now considers himself friends with Sherlock. Nevermind that they just met, or that Sherlock might have different feelings on the matter. This is a thing that is going to happen.]

[Sherlock is thinking: What the hell?]

You are too late. It already has happened.

Well it's going to stop happening now, because we're friends now.

Oh are we? You have a very loose definition of the term, then.

[The tone is almost mocking.]

That just means I have lots of friends!

[The mocking, it goes over his head.]
