[Shion is at the library. Because it is quiet, and he doesn't want to deal with the ceaseless chatter of the masses anymore. Obvious to everyone is the way he's rubbing his forehead and scowling. He's also wearing black robes, instead of his usual white ones.] Why does everyone feel the need to whine at me so much? They don't need me for every petty problem that appears!


(OOC: Technically this is the start of Shion's experiment. He's still mostly himself, but over the next few days he'll start to forget more and slip further and further into becoming the Balrog Specter.)

It's hardly whining if there are bones protruding. Those tend to be legitimate complaints.

[Shion glares in reply] Do you have any idea how rare a complaint like that is? Most are far more petty things! And in the cases where it is, why are they coming to me instead of a healer? I have other duties, ones that affect the whole of Sanctuary.

But while he's looking he hears someone being snappish and oh snap time to go see what's going on. He's peeking out from around a shelf right now.]

That's what night-time is for. Daytime is for hanging out with friends or working, but there's not too much work to do here on the plane.

You know, sometimes it does seem like that, doesn't it? Well, in my case, it isn't so much whining as it is...running into megalomaniacal beings who want to destroy the universe for petty reasons.

[Shion scowls, although more in confusion than anything else. It's not like he hasn't run into something like that before, but still...] I almost wish that it was something like that. Even if we had another Holy War, at least that would stop them whining and they would listen to me.

Well, take it from me: they'll only listen once the gravity of the situation finally reaches their minds. Unfortunately, by that point, several people will have already died--and most of those deaths could have been prevented if the others had truly listened and didn't do what you told them not to. [it's an all-too familiar scenario for him]

I am beginning to see why my Master did not want this post. [He sighs and rubs his head] I am trying to ensure that Sanctuary can recover after the devastation of the war against Hades, but all I have left to work with are children and adults that either nag or complain at me.

[There are many things one could answer to that complain. Starting with some remark about if maybe asking Saga would be a better idea, or that he's right and he's not needed for every petty problem that appears or even for the big problems at all.]

Why not change jobs then? That way maybe they will go bother someone else.

Looking at Shion, Saga's getting used to his bad temper little by little. But right now, he finds the situation amusing.] Having trouble with your new obligations?

[And right now Shion is extra grumpy] At the moment Sanctuary is mostly made up of children and those who can't seem to do anything without complaining. Do you truly think that would be easy?

[Gazes at the shelves.] Being the one who leads the matters of the Sanctuary is never easy. Not even for the people under your command. [Saga remembers the amount of fear he inflicted on Gigas and Phaeton, his manservants.]

But those children will become the future Saints. You just need to give them some time.

[Shion hasn't terrified anyone yet, although he has come close] I do not care how hard it is, they should have realized that listening to what I say is the easiest way.

As for the children, we have just been though a war. Time is one thing we are in short supply of if we want to bring Sanctuary back up to strength just in case something else happens.

Shion. [His voice is gentle but serious.]. Imposing yourself to set the Sanctuary into order is not the suitable way.

[Pauses.] I understand what you've been through. To build Sanctuary up again is a tough task for everyone involved.
