[in the library, Oliver is sitting in one of two large armchairs with a side table between them. he doesn't have a book in front of him, though--he's just holding his black datapad, furiously typing something into it. on the table next to him is a cup of tea and a plate of scones, although they're no longer as warm as they were when he first started. he appears to have taken exactly three bites out of one of the scones, but the cup of tea has been reduced to half-full. at least it's not going to waste]

[Oliver himself is completely oblivious to his surroundings. he's so focused on what he's doing that, most likely, he won't even hear anyone approaching. but he doesn't seem to mind that at the moment; his expression is one of concentration. he looks tired, too. it seems all of the events on the Plane recently are taking their toll on him]

[muttering to himself] Damnit, I can't remember. They're my friends! I should know all this...

[does anyone care to interrupt whatever he's working so hard on?]

[it's the hair that tips him off, and he jumps, turning in surprise to look up at his friend] Mu! I didn't see you there.

[embarrassed] Oh, just...trying to remember things... [he quickly presses to turn off the display on the datapad]

[That nets him something of a worried frown.]

Is your memory gone again?

What? No! Not that! [Oliver shakes his head vigorously] Just... [he hesitates] I was trying to remember something from a while ago. That's all. [he tries for a reassuring smile]

Yet you seem oddly worked up about it.

[and there goes his attempt at a smile] I... [he sighs. Mu never does let him get away with hiding things] I just want to have things written down. You know...in case something happens. Again.

[Mu's been a walking bullshit detector for a *long* time, Oli] I see. Given what I overheard, that's proving easier said than done?

[he nods] I've been here a long time. It's a lot to remember. [that coupled with the fact that he's not entirely sure he trusts his memory, but he doesn't really want to talk about that]

But what about you, Mu? How've you been?

I can certainly appreciate that. [It's said with a smile, and the goes to procure another chair to plunk himself in, which, upon coming back with it, he does.]

I'm not quite sure I can answer. My health is good, as is Shions, my work has lightened somewhat, and yet several new sources of anxiety have found their ways into my life.

[he frowns at that] What's wrong? Is something going on with your students?

Not as such, no, though many of them will be taking their tests for the Cloth very soon. However...my...My Goddess, Athena. She is here.

[he stares] Wait, here here? On the Plane!?

Yes, she is. [There is a very obvious flare of worry, intertwined with a sense of duty. It is very, very strong.]

[he certainly felt that, and he cringes] Mu...it'll be okay. We'll watch out for her.

I do not doubt that but...

I'm sure you can sense what I feel about this.

[All of the reassurances in the world will not assuage this worry. If one didn't know any better, it could almost be mistaken for a parental sort of worry.]

[he makes a face, still not really comfortable with being called out on his ability, even though he knows Mu isn't being accusatory] Well, yeah, but... Look, let me help. What can I do?

Simply keeping an eye out for her would be of assistance - steer her away from danger if you can.

[he nods. isn't it obvious that he would do that?] Yeah, 'course!

Mu, I know I've seen a few new people around lately. She dresses like you, right?

Similarly, yes. She often wears white, in my experience. [At least Saori did. He's just taking a guess about Sasha.]

So I'll know her if I see her? Okay, good. [he's hoping he does run into her--both because he wants to help protect her but also because he just really wants to meet her]

I'm sure you will - and I do not think it will take very long for you to find her, either.

[surprised] Yeah? Is she spending a lot of time here, then?

Not as such, but she is a friendly soul.

[he laughs] I'd be surprised if she weren't! Okay, Mu, I'll keep an eye out.

The Athena of my time is far more reserved, but that is the fault of circumstance.
