[in the library, Oliver is sitting in one of two large armchairs with a side table between them. he doesn't have a book in front of him, though--he's just holding his black datapad, furiously typing something into it. on the table next to him is a cup of tea and a plate of scones, although they're no longer as warm as they were when he first started. he appears to have taken exactly three bites out of one of the scones, but the cup of tea has been reduced to half-full. at least it's not going to waste]

[Oliver himself is completely oblivious to his surroundings. he's so focused on what he's doing that, most likely, he won't even hear anyone approaching. but he doesn't seem to mind that at the moment; his expression is one of concentration. he looks tired, too. it seems all of the events on the Plane recently are taking their toll on him]

[muttering to himself] Damnit, I can't remember. They're my friends! I should know all this...

[does anyone care to interrupt whatever he's working so hard on?]

[he frowns at that] What's wrong? Is something going on with your students?

Not as such, no, though many of them will be taking their tests for the Cloth very soon. However...my...My Goddess, Athena. She is here.

[he stares] Wait, here here? On the Plane!?

Yes, she is. [There is a very obvious flare of worry, intertwined with a sense of duty. It is very, very strong.]

[he certainly felt that, and he cringes] Mu...it'll be okay. We'll watch out for her.

I do not doubt that but...

I'm sure you can sense what I feel about this.

[All of the reassurances in the world will not assuage this worry. If one didn't know any better, it could almost be mistaken for a parental sort of worry.]

[he makes a face, still not really comfortable with being called out on his ability, even though he knows Mu isn't being accusatory] Well, yeah, but... Look, let me help. What can I do?

Simply keeping an eye out for her would be of assistance - steer her away from danger if you can.

[he nods. isn't it obvious that he would do that?] Yeah, 'course!

Mu, I know I've seen a few new people around lately. She dresses like you, right?

Similarly, yes. She often wears white, in my experience. [At least Saori did. He's just taking a guess about Sasha.]

So I'll know her if I see her? Okay, good. [he's hoping he does run into her--both because he wants to help protect her but also because he just really wants to meet her]

I'm sure you will - and I do not think it will take very long for you to find her, either.

[surprised] Yeah? Is she spending a lot of time here, then?

Not as such, but she is a friendly soul.

[he laughs] I'd be surprised if she weren't! Okay, Mu, I'll keep an eye out.

The Athena of my time is far more reserved, but that is the fault of circumstance.

Wait, you mean she's Athena from a different universe? [really, this place is impossible...]

A different time, actually. This Athena is from Shion's time, as opposed to mine.

Oh! Wow. Okay, that makes sense. And you two are from the same universe, right? It's just Saga's that's different. [he's trying to keep track of these things, anyway. and you can be sure he's taking mental notes to add to his datapad file later]

Shion and I have been completely merged for a long time now, yes, but when we began, there were more than two hundred years between us. Saga is....debateably from my future, but it's safest to consider him completely separate. Shun and I also share a reality, if not completely then very nearly so, and finally Ikki seems to be ahead of all of us, and possibly completely separate as well.

[We might need a flowchart at this point]

[wow, definitely. that was confusing. Oliver is quiet for a moment, trying to process it all] ...wait. So you and Shion were 200 years apart but you're from the same time now? That can happen?

Evidently, though to be fair, the Sanctuary has changed very little in that time.

...in 200 years!? [Mu, you just blew his mind]

The Pantheon in Athens still stands after several thousand. A few hundred years is but the blink of an eye to the Sanctuary.

But what about the people!? People aren't like...living with their ancestors, or...how does that work?
