Chloe Saunders 001
Th-this… c-can’t be happening… [Chloe stumbles slightly, eyes wide as she stares up at the stars above her head—the surrounding area of the plane that looks as though it should be something out of a sci-fi movie. First the nightmare—which she was used to, though not to this caliber—then the shop keeper, that Sault woman, finding herself here. Her throat constricted.]
D-Derek?! [If he was anywhere nearby, he’d hear her, right?] Simon? Tori? A-Aunt Lauren?
Oh, no. No, no, no. [Panic seized in her chest. Her stomach twisted into knots. She would not panic. This had to be the St. Cloud Cabal’s doing: Sorcerer magic. She wouldn’t let them get to her.]
Okay, you found me. [She didn’t stutter. Good.] .] I know who you are, so you don’t need to pull this. The bad guys always go for the seemingly helpless girl, right? Where are the others? Where is my Aunt Lauren? Wh-where are Simon and Derek and Tori?
[Then she remembered. Derek. Werewolf. Expendable. She might be expendable.] I-I promise to c-cooperate so long as you don’t harm any of the others! [Did that sound too desperate? She didn’t care. If this was as bad as she assumed it was, she wasn’t taking any chances on the safety of her friends and family.
[She took a step forward. Then another. ‘Welcome to The Machine?’ What was this, more experimentation? She shuddered, lungs seizing in her chest.]
You can’t do this… [The words were whispered, horror in her tone. Then a fist clenched, and she glared at the general landscape. They wouldn’t win. They could never win. Alright, she was captured. Now it looked like she needed to find the others—and get answers. With a stride full of purpose, she stepped forward, anger lashing her tone as she warned whoever was behind this.]
You picked the wrong heroine to mess with, Sorcerer. [Damned if the others weren’t looking for her right now.]

How does one thwart a demon in your world? [And why did that last bit sound kind of cliche in her opinion? Well...he was an angel.]
no subject
Oh, he can be quite scary, when he wishes to be.
[He sobers slightly at that. It's not a topic he particular cares to discuss anymore, not with the way his last attempting at 'thwarting' a demon turned out.]
It depends on the demon, I suppose. Much the same as I imagine it is in your world.
You said your friend was a half demon?
no subject
[Chloe nods in understanding. She hadn't met a great many demons, but of those she had no two were exactly alike.]
Yes. Liz. [She waited curiously, wondering what he wished to know.]
no subject
[He's somewhat relieved that she doesn't ask him any more questions on the subject, and instead seems willing to shift topics slightly to the demons of her own world.]
Are half demons very different from full demons?
no subject
They're completely different from full demons. Half demons live and grow as humans, some never really understanding why they aren't human and weird things happen to them because they may not realize they have demon blood. Full demons live in another realm--or so I believe. [She shuddered, remembering that little tear she created in her world where demons could trickle through all because she set a powerful demon free. That place that opened up--and what came forth--was definitely unlike any half-demon Chloe had ever come across. Or demi-demon for that matter.]
It's kind of hard to explain, and I'm not an expert by any means. I know a few demon classification, Agito and Volo. There are many different powers demons and half-demons possess, and a half-demon's powers also vary in strength. I've known different kinds of telekinetic demons. Another person I know is some type of fire demon. I don't know all the kinds out there, but there are quite a few. I guess demons find humans to help further their bloodlines and create more chaos in the world. I'm not sure what they accomplish or why they do it.
[Then she goes quiet, remembering that immensely powerful demon walking toward her--his power licking across her skin as he looked her over. Touched her. She shuddered. Grow up strong indeed? She didn't exactly know what the Berithian Treaty entailed, but after the conversation he had with the demi-demon Diriel, Chloe believed she could guess and was sickened by it.]
Apparently there is a Berithian Treaty concerning humans and demons of my world. I don't know what kind of a contract it is exactly, or who forged it and why demons abide by it, but it makes certain demons do not attempt to...form relations with anyone who is not yet of a certain age. [Did she look like there was a bad taste in her mouth? That she might be sick? Yes, yes she did.]

Then again, this question seems to be complicated enough itself. Aziraphale tilts his head, listening intently.
He grimaces at the last of that, though he's certainly not entirely surprised. Demons are demons, it seems, regardless of the technical differences across worlds.]
I see. That's certainly quite different from my world. There's only one person I know of with a demon side who grew up amongst humans in such a manner, and he is entirely unique.
[Not to mention was never technically supposed to grow up in such a way, but the less said about that, the better.]

[Adam had called himself as such before, in any case.]
But no, he's not the one I've been speaking of. He was never human. He's merely - different than other demons.
[Which is something of an understatement, but attempting to explain how he's different would be long and complicated, and most likely end up delving into their relationship and how Aziraphale himself is different from many other angels.]
He's a good sort, really.
no subject
[Suddenly Chloe smiled.] Would he not take kindly to being called that? Or is he different from other demons in that regard as well? [She thought she might be grasping his world a little better, now.]
no subject
Does it? I know only the one, really. The other isn't technically a demon.
[His smile turns amused again.]
I'm afraid he wouldn't take kindly to it at all. It's so difficult to compliment him, you know. One can only tell him so many times how devious he is before it begins to feel rather repetitive.
no subject
[Then Chloe is laughing at that.] He doesn't seem all that scary, for a demon. I probably shouldn't tell him that, though, should I?
no subject
I suppose half demon would be the closest term.
[Her laughter makes him smile.]
There are a lot of things he is and isn't, for a demon. And no, you probably shouldn't. You certainly shouldn't tell him that you got this impression of him from me.
[He might pout again, and then Aziraphale will find it more difficult to keep to his promise not to tell Crowley when he's being adorable.]
no subject
[Then Chloe is laughing again, head tossed back in delight, and it takes her a moment to calm down this time.] Don't worry. I will do my best not to get you in trouble for telling me all of this.
no subject
I would be most appreciative.
no subject
It's a promise, then.
