Chloe Saunders 001
Th-this… c-can’t be happening… [Chloe stumbles slightly, eyes wide as she stares up at the stars above her head—the surrounding area of the plane that looks as though it should be something out of a sci-fi movie. First the nightmare—which she was used to, though not to this caliber—then the shop keeper, that Sault woman, finding herself here. Her throat constricted.]
D-Derek?! [If he was anywhere nearby, he’d hear her, right?] Simon? Tori? A-Aunt Lauren?
Oh, no. No, no, no. [Panic seized in her chest. Her stomach twisted into knots. She would not panic. This had to be the St. Cloud Cabal’s doing: Sorcerer magic. She wouldn’t let them get to her.]
Okay, you found me. [She didn’t stutter. Good.] .] I know who you are, so you don’t need to pull this. The bad guys always go for the seemingly helpless girl, right? Where are the others? Where is my Aunt Lauren? Wh-where are Simon and Derek and Tori?
[Then she remembered. Derek. Werewolf. Expendable. She might be expendable.] I-I promise to c-cooperate so long as you don’t harm any of the others! [Did that sound too desperate? She didn’t care. If this was as bad as she assumed it was, she wasn’t taking any chances on the safety of her friends and family.
[She took a step forward. Then another. ‘Welcome to The Machine?’ What was this, more experimentation? She shuddered, lungs seizing in her chest.]
You can’t do this… [The words were whispered, horror in her tone. Then a fist clenched, and she glared at the general landscape. They wouldn’t win. They could never win. Alright, she was captured. Now it looked like she needed to find the others—and get answers. With a stride full of purpose, she stepped forward, anger lashing her tone as she warned whoever was behind this.]
You picked the wrong heroine to mess with, Sorcerer. [Damned if the others weren’t looking for her right now.]

[There is something there, a deep ache behind those words, but he does what he can to squash it back.]
Besides, if I want to go somewhere outside of the Plane, I'll just talk to Aziraphale.
no subject
That's good then. [Aziraphale? What a strange name...] And thanks for the warning. [Didn't the fact he gave her a warning at all mean he could be somewhat trustworthy?]
no subject
Yes!No, of course not! Don't trust strangers so easily!]Er... You're welcome, I guess.
no subject
Who do you think enabled us to travel here? What kind of people do you see?
And why is this place 'The 'Machine'? [Sounded kind of spooky if you ask her.]
no subject
Let's see... As for what I do here, I'd say I live here. There's a kitchen and a bar that are always fully stocked. I have a bedroom next to the bar and my Bentley. Aziraphale comes quite often, so that's just about all I need right there.
Then, you asked if I think this place is odd? Of course I do. I don't know who's really in charge of this place. And I can't really say we travel here for free. From time to time, planegoers are subject to experiments. From what I've seen they're mostly annoying, but for someone like me, it's a worthy price for being able to be near my car and my angel again. And limitless booze. That's nice too.
no subject
You have a Bentley here? How did you afford it? What kind of currency do they accept here? [She smiles.] Yours seems to be a simple yet nice way of living. I take it you don't need much to be happy?
[Then the smile freezes on her face before slowly slipping into an expression of fear and horror, her heart speeding up as her stomach twisted into knots.] E-experiments? No. Oh, no. [Now she is shaking her head in denial, backing away slowly, one step followed by the next.] What kind of experiments? I-I w-won't cooperate! I w-want to leave, now. I can't... I won't...
What do you mean, angel? H-how could y-you put up with... [She needed to go. No more experiments. No more modifications. No more lies. Derek. She needed Derek. Moisture gathered in her eyes as her panic rose, but she refused to cry. She needed to run. But run where?]

[His brows shoot up at her obvious panic.]
Hey, they aren't really that bad. Just things like powers getting temporarily taken away or being stuck in a fairy tale.
Look, if you want to go back to your world, just think about it. It's a little easier the first couple of times to be moving while you do it.
no subject
[She was trembling slightly, eyes wide in Herr pale face.] P-powers getting taken away? [Once upon a time she would have thought that a blessing.] H-how are you supposed to defend yourself? And fairy tales aren't real.
[She can't focus on her own world with her emotions running haywire like this, and her feet seem rooted to the ground.]
no subject
I didn't need to defend myself for the month my powers were out. And I know fairy tales aren't real, but a lot of people seemed to be coming back from what should have been their world for a time having acted out fairy tales there.
no subject
So...you have powers? What are your abilities?
Wait. This place...affects our world back home?
no subject
I do. It's kind of difficult to do my job without them.
Yeah. And worlds can merge together, too.
no subject
Is everyone here supernatural, then? [She knows she shouldn't have asked, but she hoped his abilities would be something simple. Something easy to put a name to. Maybe it was best he didn't go into detail. That way she didn't have to explain herself, either.]
That...does not sound good at all. [She paled, already mentally scripting everything she would need to tell the others.]
no subject
Not everyone is supernatural. I've run into some completely normal humans since I've been here. Not all of us can be demons and angels.
Well, if you get close to someone, it makes things a little easier to be near them.
no subject
Demons and Angels? [The words left her lips in a surreal whisper. She stared, wondering if she might have misinterpreted, then slowly shook her head in disbelief. Who was this guy?] So you are either human, or a demon? You mean half demon, right? [He looked pretty human to her. She had seen and sensed demon's before. Granted, they were in another dimension or possessing someone, and kind of gave themselves away, but...] What...do you think I am?
If you get near someone?
no subject
[He makes a bit of the face, thinking about half-demons. That was a page of history he didn't want to recall.]And just why couldn't I be an angel? Besides, that whole Nephilim business was rather messy. You seem to be a human from what I can tell...
Close emotionally, not physically. [A thought strikes him. A thought he's clearly not happy with.] Fuck.
no subject
[Then Chloe is grinning rather largely, shaking her head in clear amusement.] You already gave yourself away. [She almost laughed.] You admitted you have powers that were taken away, so you can't be human, and you're trying to prove me wrong, so I would say... you're a demon. [Her eyes narrow slightly in amused consideration, then she smiles again and nods. Whoever he was, he didn't seem overly dangerous. Yet.] Also, you said demons and angels. Not angels and demons. I think, if you were an angel, you would have phrased that the other way.
I am human, but that's not all I am. I'm a necromancer. [May as well tell him, since she believed she figured him out. She bites her lip, wondering if that was a rash decision and how he might take that bit of news.]
Emotionally? [Then she started, eying him after he cursed.] What is it?
no subject
I... I need to check my reality soon. There's a chance that I might have a problem.
no subject
W-wait! Y-you can't do that! You said your world was having some form or Armageddon, right? Wh-why would you go back? You might die! [Sure, she might be able to see him again as a ghost or something--if he stayed behind--but still!]
no subject
[Crowley snorted derisively.] My world is just rubble and oceans of blood. There's only a handful of demons and angels left and they've both retreated to their respective realms. I've been alone on my world for twenty-five years now. I should be safe. If not, I'll come back right away.
no subject
That... sounds horrible. [Yeah. She definitely doesn't blame him for never wanting to go back. Even though he seems to suddenly want to now.] Okay. Try to stay safe. [Yeah, she was worried, but she bet he could take care of himself. And really, what else was there she could do?]
no subject
[People worrying over him always strikes him as strange and he never quite knows how to respond. But no matter. He takes a step back and disappears from the Plane.]
no subject
Okay...
[So everything was true. And going back to your world was supposedly as easy as a thought. Chloe debates for a moment, then decides to explore a bit more before heading home. Best to have as many answers she can provide for all the questions she is sure to receive once she tells everyone about this place. Still. She hopes Crowley is safe.]
