a second miracle
[ A small tea table is just right there, in the middle of the plane. A solitary figure sits at it, and atop it is a chessboard. All of the pieces are scattered across the table except for Bernkastel's and the pink, blonde witch on the other side of the board. Every now and then, she'll take a sip of her tea and maybe rearrange her pieces in a certain way that only she understands, but scatters them again.
Directly in the middle of the board, Bernkastel takes the pieces of the little girl swinging a purse, and sets her in the middle. ]
You can be a stand-in piece.
[ Eventually... she notices a piece that should not be on her game board. She takes it and lifts it up behind her, as if there was someone who would take it from her.
The stars behind her have been disguising thousands of pairs of cats eyes, and finally one large cat emerges from the scenery to sink its teeth into the piece, messily gnashing it to bits until there's nothing. ]
Thank you.
[ Back to her game. ]

[I happily accept all blame *A* And now Bern is too. I bet she's secretly swishing her cat tail.]
[ This was how she filled her boredom, with the blood of others. Like him, it was what she lived for. They truly weren't so different at all.
There was a low laugh coming from the witch. ] Indeed. I guess it runs in the family, hm? It's her own fault for being such a... disposable trump card.
[Now, how will we ever get Gin to calm down without bloodshed? Honestly! ]
Of course. It only takes one bad apple to spoil the bunch.
Sherry... would probably still be in the Organization— she was born into it— if her sister hadn't gotten that ridiculous notion of escape into her silly little head.
... but I suppose that's that. Her fate is sealed.
[... well Bern is never opposed to creating bloodshed for the sake of it. :3a]
[ She snickers. ] There is no 'miracle' that will save her life.
[ Which is definitely true-- and to state it on your title as a witch is an important thing. A miracle? No. Clever playing on Ai's end might, but a miracle, a trump card, a 'right place at the right time' was no longer in her favor, and that was devastating to think about when considering just who they were dealing with. ]
Even if it would be a poor mistake to go hunt her down now, I feel... riled up. What a pain. [ But it's said with a smile. ]
[And Gin would be ever so grateful for some random bloodshed. ^3^;]
It is what you live for, isn't it?
[He removed his cigarette, turning it between his fingers and eyeing it instead of her. He did not respond to her miracle comment.
Then, he tossed what was left of his cigarette to the Plane's "ground" and blew the last wisps of smoke into the air, leaving them to twist and curl over their heads.
Finally, he crushed the still smoldering cigarette butt under his shoe.]
... it is troublesome. I seem to have the same affliction. [Likewise, he's grinning again.]
((And now I'm tempted to apply for Pinoko (http://tomboyishcandy.livejournal.com/info) here as well. I really like this game already~
and you're one of the main reasons for that! :D))[Good thing she is creative enough to provide!]
[ She stood up, her chair vanishing and the pieces on the table disappearing as well. It seemed like her 'tea party' was over. ]
That won't do. One of those things that occupy your mind until you erase that desire and urge. I might as well fix it.
[ She pretended to think about it, drawing a scythe from the air itself. ] I could summon some mindless demons, but... you prefer a more sentient quarry, don't you? You like seeing fear in their eyes. [ The tone in her voice indicated she felt the same-- she glanced to him, as if sizing him up again. He was definitely a player in her game, so... ]
I'm fairly sure I can create that.
[[ AW SHUCKS. And you should totally go for it! I'm addicted to this game already myself. ;w; ]]
[Very fortunate indeed!]
He watched her form a weapon quite literally out of thin air with mute fascination; it did little to quell his excitement, of course, but what she promised might.]
Yeah. The harder they are to break, the more satisfying it is to watch them crumble and fall apart. I'd like to see how real you can make them feel.
((♥))
[oh yes >3]
Would you be interested in an island, where no more than seventeen people who are the furthest from free of sin-- where no matter what, when the typhoon that closes them off from the rest of the world ends, there are no survivors?
It'll be a mockery of the game, of course. But I've stopped caring. You could kill them all. Or you could kill just one or two, and watch them run around like headless chickens trying to figure out which one among them is the 'wolf' responsible, when really it's just... [ She laughed. A raven brought to the island by the black cat.
It would just be another alternate reality of the 'groundhog day repeating' Rokkenjima disaster. Since he would be brought there by the witch, and since he definitely was not among the list of people on the island, Bernkastel was treating it less and less like anything like a proper game board and more like a toy she could open whenever she wanted. Bringing him to it through the sea of kakera would be easy. ]
No matter what, there will be no survivors.
Does that interest you?
[I think he loves Bernkastel, just a bit, right now. xD;;; ]
That sounds like it could keep me entertained, at least for a little while. And I can leave the island and return to my own world and this own whenever I grow tired of it, right?
... thank you.
((My totally unpretty Bernkastel doodle (http://i.imgur.com/7XQBS.png). And my black kitties are the least threatening ever. See, my doodles are better off unsaved. xD;;))
[HAHAHAHA murder spree ticket = love?]
Don't thank me. [ A smile with fangs. ] You're doing me a service if you cover that island in blood.
[[ ARE YOU KIDDING THAT'S GORGEOUS. I love it. *___* /right click save ]]
[Well, maybe not LOVE. Lust at the very least? It's something precious, in any case!]
That's my show of gratitude.
[He continued to smile.]
((G-gorgeous?! W-well... I'm just happy you loved it! ^^;
Thank you. x3;))
[HAHA i gotcha i was just being funny-- and yes. yes it is!]
No mercy for a single one, okay?
[ And she is smiling back. ]
[[ ♥!!! I do *__* ]]
[Aha, I knew you knew! I was just being farcical too.]
You don't need to tell me that.
((I'm glad. ^_^
[Gotcha XD]
[[ ... S-SO CUTE ]]
[x3]
He slipped his hands into his pockets again, watching her attentively. He was quiet again, though the smile and his eyes still showed his excitement.]
((Very.

Cliché as it is, you'll need me to guide you. The sea of kakera isn't kind to people who aren't voyagers.
[[ /JUST MELTS ]]

1/2
It was a quick travel-- the 'sea of kakera' was apparently a large, black expanse, with glittering fragments of crystals that spanned into infinity, and, well, beyond. She doesn't waste her time looking for what she wants.
She plucks a crystal out of the air with her free hand. A Rokkenjima not governed or looked upon directly by Beatrice's game. Exactly what she needed.
And the scenery shifts, and she lets go of his hand. ]

I don't care if you follow the rules, but in general, for the first night, there is one.
Six people will die 'overnight' on the first night. That's when the rest of the family wakes up, paranoid, and start pointing fingers, separate into their own manic factions under the guise of 'uniting against some separate killer when they suspect its among themselves'... Two will usually follow suit and die during the next day. Then it's a free-for-all, despite what people following a certain epitaph would say.
But if I cared about the rules, I'd be going much more in depth. So really, I don't care if you follow them at all.
The game of Rokkenjima ends at the 00:00 mark of the second day. I will always be here. Just tell me when you tire of it.
[AND LATER]
The witch looked very satisfied. Another Rokkenjima that didn't see the light after two days. Bringing a new companion could only make it more interesting. ]
Worked it out of your system? [ She asked, wryly. ]
no subject
[It was an exhilarating experience and certainly gratified his thirst for blood, if not fully satisfied it. But that was no one's fault— his thirst was endless, certainly not satisfiable. He was not so naive to think it would ever end. He would always look for more, but such was his life.
There was still a nagging emptiness eating away at him, but rather than a gaping hole, it was no larger than a thimble now, figuratively speaking, of course— easily ignored. The persistent grip of his bloodlust on both his mind and body had loosened with Bernkastel's kind arrangements.
He was indebted to her now, he decided— no one truly had any sovereignty upon him, in his mind, unless he himself decided it.
For satisfying his hunger, he decided he should repay her kindness in like.]
Let's go for a drink. My treat.
no subject
It'd be embarrassing.
A drink? It had always been tea parties with her fellow witches that she hadn't had alcohol in good company in a long time. It made her nostalgic. Who was she to refuse? ]
Your treat? ... Then I have no choice but to accept. I assume we're going back to your reality for this?
[... I don't know what to make of this thread. xD; ]
Of course. Unless you have a better place in mind. [His smile is perfectly charming, even though the shadows cast over his eyes still gave him an eerie aura.
The same arm that had helped its twin drag dead bodies to deface and disfigure after shooting, poisoning, — not that there was any point in making his victims unrecognizable in terms of delaying identification— save that he took pleasure in it... the same arm was now bent at the elbow, which faced away from him, as he presented it to her to link her own arm with. He didn't care whether or not she did do so, but the gesture and expression displayed by the assassin was almost comically unexpected.]
[ ... this is amazing. ]
And it was unexpected-- though she herself had extended her hand to him to guide him through the sea of kakera, even though that had been necessary. This gesture was... certainly one that made her not doubt his gratitude for an instant. She was never 'touchy' or one to get close to other people in a way that wasn't violent. She was a bear trap with phenomenal cosmic power.
... but she loved the unexpected. So she took his arm anyway. ]
[....... it is, actually.]
[He had not expected her to take his arm, but he smirked when she did.
He took his leave of the plane, returning to his world.]
((I'm a bit curious as to how this will work. From what I've read, she should just end up dragged to her own world when he steps off the Plane with her, right? But since she can control which kakera she goes to, does she go there intentionally just as he leaves?
Am I missing something? x3;
Also, I feel like having Vodka wait for Gin as an NPC, somewhere. He should react amusingly to Bernkastel, I think, because he's so amusingly timid around women— completely unlike Gin. xD; Unless you'd rather keep the affair more or less private between the two?Lambdadelta (http://realityshifted.livejournal.com/694334.html?thread=93844286#t93844286) is totally confusing Gin, on the other hand.))
[ I am drawing this, not gonna lie. ]
[ And she disappears along with him. ]
[[ Yeah, since she can control which 'reality' she can go to, she'll end up going with him! Bern's a bit of a basebreaker like that.
I'm totally fine with an NPC if you'd like to go that route--! :D Should be amusing, like you said!... HAHAHAHA. Oh, Lambda. ♥]]
[.... mind-reader! I was drawing it. xD BUT, I'm sure yours would be lovelier.]
[we can both draw it *____*]
[Sounds like fun! x3]
