a second miracle
[ A small tea table is just right there, in the middle of the plane. A solitary figure sits at it, and atop it is a chessboard. All of the pieces are scattered across the table except for Bernkastel's and the pink, blonde witch on the other side of the board. Every now and then, she'll take a sip of her tea and maybe rearrange her pieces in a certain way that only she understands, but scatters them again.
Directly in the middle of the board, Bernkastel takes the pieces of the little girl swinging a purse, and sets her in the middle. ]
You can be a stand-in piece.
[ Eventually... she notices a piece that should not be on her game board. She takes it and lifts it up behind her, as if there was someone who would take it from her.
The stars behind her have been disguising thousands of pairs of cats eyes, and finally one large cat emerges from the scenery to sink its teeth into the piece, messily gnashing it to bits until there's nothing. ]
Thank you.
[ Back to her game. ]

[AND LATER]
The witch looked very satisfied. Another Rokkenjima that didn't see the light after two days. Bringing a new companion could only make it more interesting. ]
Worked it out of your system? [ She asked, wryly. ]
no subject
[It was an exhilarating experience and certainly gratified his thirst for blood, if not fully satisfied it. But that was no one's fault— his thirst was endless, certainly not satisfiable. He was not so naive to think it would ever end. He would always look for more, but such was his life.
There was still a nagging emptiness eating away at him, but rather than a gaping hole, it was no larger than a thimble now, figuratively speaking, of course— easily ignored. The persistent grip of his bloodlust on both his mind and body had loosened with Bernkastel's kind arrangements.
He was indebted to her now, he decided— no one truly had any sovereignty upon him, in his mind, unless he himself decided it.
For satisfying his hunger, he decided he should repay her kindness in like.]
Let's go for a drink. My treat.
no subject
It'd be embarrassing.
A drink? It had always been tea parties with her fellow witches that she hadn't had alcohol in good company in a long time. It made her nostalgic. Who was she to refuse? ]
Your treat? ... Then I have no choice but to accept. I assume we're going back to your reality for this?
[... I don't know what to make of this thread. xD; ]
Of course. Unless you have a better place in mind. [His smile is perfectly charming, even though the shadows cast over his eyes still gave him an eerie aura.
The same arm that had helped its twin drag dead bodies to deface and disfigure after shooting, poisoning, — not that there was any point in making his victims unrecognizable in terms of delaying identification— save that he took pleasure in it... the same arm was now bent at the elbow, which faced away from him, as he presented it to her to link her own arm with. He didn't care whether or not she did do so, but the gesture and expression displayed by the assassin was almost comically unexpected.]
[ ... this is amazing. ]
And it was unexpected-- though she herself had extended her hand to him to guide him through the sea of kakera, even though that had been necessary. This gesture was... certainly one that made her not doubt his gratitude for an instant. She was never 'touchy' or one to get close to other people in a way that wasn't violent. She was a bear trap with phenomenal cosmic power.
... but she loved the unexpected. So she took his arm anyway. ]
[....... it is, actually.]
[He had not expected her to take his arm, but he smirked when she did.
He took his leave of the plane, returning to his world.]
((I'm a bit curious as to how this will work. From what I've read, she should just end up dragged to her own world when he steps off the Plane with her, right? But since she can control which kakera she goes to, does she go there intentionally just as he leaves?
Am I missing something? x3;
Also, I feel like having Vodka wait for Gin as an NPC, somewhere. He should react amusingly to Bernkastel, I think, because he's so amusingly timid around women— completely unlike Gin. xD; Unless you'd rather keep the affair more or less private between the two?Lambdadelta (http://realityshifted.livejournal.com/694334.html?thread=93844286#t93844286) is totally confusing Gin, on the other hand.))
[ I am drawing this, not gonna lie. ]
[ And she disappears along with him. ]
[[ Yeah, since she can control which 'reality' she can go to, she'll end up going with him! Bern's a bit of a basebreaker like that.
I'm totally fine with an NPC if you'd like to go that route--! :D Should be amusing, like you said!... HAHAHAHA. Oh, Lambda. ♥]]
[.... mind-reader! I was drawing it. xD BUT, I'm sure yours would be lovelier.]
He turned quickly to face the new arrivals to his world and though his sunglasses hid his eyes entirely, the rest of his face showed his surprise. Still, when he caught sight of the smirking blonde, he immediately rose to his feet with a smile.]
[Gin continued to smirk as the shorter man made his way over to him. Was this man his younger brother? Or was that some sort of rank-based title?]
Sorry, Vodka, but I'll be out for a little while longer. You go ahead, unless you'd like to come along.
[When Vodka drew near enough to spot the woman to Gin's left, he blinked.] [He looked at Bernkastel in confusion.]
((Aww, and that's why we love her! xD;
Aww, have a Vodka, then!Lambda breaks Gin's brain!))
[we can both draw it *____*]
My name is Bernkastel. If Gin would like to explain the rest, I'll leave him to it.
[ Because it was more fun that way, for her. ]
[[ Lambda... definitely tends to do that. XD; ]]
[Sounds like fun! x3]
[What could be seen in the faint light of the look on Vodka's face was simply priceless.]
I know it sounds ridiculous, but let's just say she isn't from around here. Also, she has some very interesting powers...
She's done me a great favour, so I'm treating her to drinks. You're welcome to come.
[And that's it— of course, Gin prefers to speak little.
Vodka blinked, obviously still failing to comprehend his "older brother's" words.] [Vodka looked uncertainly at Bernkastel.]
[Gin glanced back at Bernkastel.] This is my partner, Vodka.
((This is what I've managed so far! ^^ (http://i.imgur.com/heljT.png) It's very rough and sketchy. xD;))
no subject
A pleasure to meet you, Vodka. I hope we get to know each other better. I've found your 'aniki' to be a very fascinating person.
[[ ... FDLKGSJDFGKL I LOVE IT *___* It looks so much better than mine and aslkgjdsgjsd you draw them both so well. I'm just going to fangirl this pic forever. ]]
no subject
Gin resumed walking.] Let's go.
((^^;; W-well, thank you, I'm glad you liked it! I'd still love to see yours, though.))
no subject
[[ Mine is quite a bit more silly (http://i.imgur.com/kiVh3.png), my scanner ate it, and poor, poor Ai. ;w; ]]
no subject
Gin takes them to a bar with a variety of drinks to select from. There's even some good entertainment in the form of a sweet-voiced singer and piano music. Vodka settles into his seat at a table, still watching Bernkastel warily, while Gin either fails to notice or pretends not to.] Would you like the menu or do you have a preference? There are some rolls that you could get, if you like.
((PFFFT, Ai in the background really makes this picture. Poor girl, these two are like a living nightmare.
But awwww, yours is so cute! x333 Scanners can be a bit mean, though. It's understandable. ^^;
-scuttles off to bed-))
no subject
[ She takes in the sights. Classy. Though to be honest, she expected nothing less. ]
I'll take whatever German wine they have. Call it a strong preference from my old days.
[[ HAHA I know right, poor Ai. ;w; And thank you! >w< Scanners are the meanest.
And sleep well! ♥ ]]
no subject
[Vodka admitted somewhat sheepishly after realizing it.]
Well, it doesn't matter. [Gin said simply.]
((Thank you! ^_^
Also, please forgive any silly mistakes I might have made in the way Gin and Vodka referred to the drinks. I'm a Muslim and I've never drank any alcoholic drinks, much less know all the associated lingo! I just ran around doing a spot of very strange research to write this short response. ^o^; I'm sure my dad was confused by that, fff.
I totally based the setting on this scene. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6o_epMnGC58) That scene also happens to be a very good example of one-sided conversations with Gin... poor Vodka. xD; And Gin and Vermouth being, well, themselves.))
no subject
[ And of course, noting the irony of sharing their alcoholic names. It didn't have to be said, and wasn't of much importance in the first place... but Bernkastel enjoyed a good cosmic laugh when one was presented. ]
Do you come here often?
[ HAHA it's cool, I don't know much about alcohol at all either, aside from what's incredibly mainstream and... well, related to my character. I end up doing a lot of research for stuff like this too.
And oooh *__* HAHA no wonder Bern does plenty of the talking, despite being the quiet type too. ]
no subject
To Bernkastel's question, Gin gave her a small smile.] Yeah.
[Vodka decided to make an attempt to be friendly.]
((We should start a club!
Yeahm Gin's really, really quiet. xD;))
no subject
I live in a lot of places. I travel until something interesting catches my eye and then I decide whether or not to stick around.
[ When she finally got her wine, she smiled into the rim of the glass and sipped. ] I met him when he killed me. That's what started my interest in your aniki. [ She said it quietly, and was smirking far too much for admitting something so absurd. ]
[[ Clearly, yes!
Bern is too... unless you get her on the right subject. Umineko witches can get wordy... unsurprisingly. ]]
no subject
[Vodka made another ridiculous, shocked expression, but it was all understandable, for her words were truly ridiculous.]
Vodka, you're too loud. [Gin responded quietly as he pushed Vodka's drink towards him.]
((We should find and recruit other members! A two-person club is too small.
Aha, I can believe that! Gin's the same way. He'll run his mouth off when the conversation involves killing and when he has to explain things to Vodka. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQ3-g3qgooo) Of course, Gin's explanations may or may not be accompanied with a gun pointed to your neck.
We're being much too cruel to Vodka right now, I must say.))
no subject
But yes, we met under some unique circumstances, and here we are. [ She raises her wine glass slightly before taking another sip. ] And as a witch, I travel many places. Yet another thing your aniki can vouch for.
... these drinks are celebrating a little trip of ours, to be honest.
[[ Clearly, we should recruit Ai-- oh wait.
Yep! When it comes to existence, murder, and downright being cruel, Bern can talk forever. Scythe included! They really are... very similar.
... and yes. Yes we are. 8) ]]
no subject
((Ahahahaha— she might never recover if we do.
We're so evil. xD;
I apologize for how short this response is, but I'm sort of not sure how to respond. Aha, maybe we should draw this thread to a close soon, unless, of course, you have something in mind! ^^))
no subject
[[ ooc; Yeah, that's fine--! Handwaving it from here on out is cool with me. :|b ]]
