a second miracle

[ A small tea table is just right there, in the middle of the plane. A solitary figure sits at it, and atop it is a chessboard. All of the pieces are scattered across the table except for Bernkastel's and the pink, blonde witch on the other side of the board. Every now and then, she'll take a sip of her tea and maybe rearrange her pieces in a certain way that only she understands, but scatters them again.

Directly in the middle of the board, Bernkastel takes the pieces of the little girl swinging a purse, and sets her in the middle. ]

You can be a stand-in piece.

[ Eventually... she notices a piece that should not be on her game board. She takes it and lifts it up behind her, as if there was someone who would take it from her.

The stars behind her have been disguising thousands of pairs of cats eyes, and finally one large cat emerges from the scenery to sink its teeth into the piece, messily gnashing it to bits until there's nothing. ]

Thank you.

[ Back to her game. ]

Yeah.

[It was an exhilarating experience and certainly gratified his thirst for blood, if not fully satisfied it. But that was no one's fault— his thirst was endless, certainly not satisfiable. He was not so naive to think it would ever end. He would always look for more, but such was his life.

There was still a nagging emptiness eating away at him, but rather than a gaping hole, it was no larger than a thimble now, figuratively speaking, of course— easily ignored. The persistent grip of his bloodlust on both his mind and body had loosened with Bernkastel's kind arrangements.

He was indebted to her now, he decided— no one truly had any sovereignty upon him, in his mind, unless he himself decided it.

For satisfying his hunger, he decided he should repay her kindness in like.]

Let's go for a drink. My treat.

[... I don't know what to make of this thread. xD; ]

[Unfortunately, Gin has very keen eyes for details. He might have noticed your little habit of tail-swishing, but he might not make it known.]

Of course. Unless you have a better place in mind. [His smile is perfectly charming, even though the shadows cast over his eyes still gave him an eerie aura.

The same arm that had helped its twin drag dead bodies to deface and disfigure after shooting, poisoning, — not that there was any point in making his victims unrecognizable in terms of delaying identification— save that he took pleasure in it... the same arm was now bent at the elbow, which faced away from him, as he presented it to her to link her own arm with. He didn't care whether or not she did do so, but the gesture and expression displayed by the assassin was almost comically unexpected.]

[....... it is, actually.]

[identity profile] ravenchaser.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
It'll be my pleasure. I know just the place.

[He had not expected her to take his arm, but he smirked when she did.

He took his leave of the plane, returning to his world.]

((I'm a bit curious as to how this will work. From what I've read, she should just end up dragged to her own world when he steps off the Plane with her, right? But since she can control which kakera she goes to, does she go there intentionally just as he leaves?

Am I missing something? x3;

Also, I feel like having Vodka wait for Gin as an NPC, somewhere. He should react amusingly to Bernkastel, I think, because he's so amusingly timid around women— completely unlike Gin. xD; Unless you'd rather keep the affair more or less private between the two?

Lambdadelta (http://realityshifted.livejournal.com/694334.html?thread=93844286#t93844286) is totally confusing Gin, on the other hand.))

[.... mind-reader! I was drawing it. xD BUT, I'm sure yours would be lovelier.]

[identity profile] ravenchaser.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
[After returning to his world, despite the late hour and high moon, someone sat near the door from which they exited, waiting for someone, it seemed. Under the glow of a streetlamp, a stout man dressed in a similar fashion to Gin sat on a bench, quite nearly jumping when Gin and Bernkastel appeared.

He turned quickly to face the new arrivals to his world and though his sunglasses hid his eyes entirely, the rest of his face showed his surprise. Still, when he caught sight of the smirking blonde, he immediately rose to his feet with a smile.]

[Gin continued to smirk as the shorter man made his way over to him. Was this man his younger brother? Or was that some sort of rank-based title?]

Sorry, Vodka, but I'll be out for a little while longer. You go ahead, unless you'd like to come along.

[When Vodka drew near enough to spot the woman to Gin's left, he blinked.] [He looked at Bernkastel in confusion.]

((Aww, and that's why we love her! xD;

Aww, have a Vodka, then!

Lambda breaks Gin's brain!))

[Sounds like fun! x3]

[identity profile] ravenchaser.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, this is Bernkastel. She's also called the Witch of Miracles.

[What could be seen in the faint light of the look on Vodka's face was simply priceless.]

I know it sounds ridiculous, but let's just say she isn't from around here. Also, she has some very interesting powers...

She's done me a great favour, so I'm treating her to drinks. You're welcome to come.

[And that's it— of course, Gin prefers to speak little.

Vodka blinked, obviously still failing to comprehend his "older brother's" words.]
[Vodka looked uncertainly at Bernkastel.]

[Gin glanced back at Bernkastel.] This is my partner, Vodka.

((This is what I've managed so far! ^^ (http://i.imgur.com/heljT.png) It's very rough and sketchy. xD;))

[identity profile] ravenchaser.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
[The fact that her smile very nearly mirrored Gin's just made the mysterious woman all the more suspicious to Vodka, but he held his tongue. He was easily more expressive than Gin, however, and didn't hide his concerns as easily.] [He nodded. That much, at least, they could agree upon. He felt as if she were mocking him somehow, but it might have just been his insecurities clouding his thinking, so he didn't bring it up.

Gin resumed walking.]
Let's go.

((^^;; W-well, thank you, I'm glad you liked it! I'd still love to see yours, though.))

[identity profile] ravenchaser.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 06:42 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, Vodka can be far crueler than his behaviour would have her believe— still, he's obviously more emotional and less experienced than his superior.

Gin takes them to a bar with a variety of drinks to select from. There's even some good entertainment in the form of a sweet-voiced singer and piano music. Vodka settles into his seat at a table, still watching Bernkastel warily, while Gin either fails to notice or pretends not to.]
Would you like the menu or do you have a preference? There are some rolls that you could get, if you like.

((PFFFT, Ai in the background really makes this picture. Poor girl, these two are like a living nightmare.

But awwww, yours is so cute! x333 Scanners can be a bit mean, though. It's understandable. ^^;

-scuttles off to bed-))

[identity profile] ravenchaser.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, there's a Bernkastel Riesling of a very good age and there's also Liebfraumilch.

[Vodka admitted somewhat sheepishly after realizing it.]

Well, it doesn't matter. [Gin said simply.]

((Thank you! ^_^

Also, please forgive any silly mistakes I might have made in the way Gin and Vodka referred to the drinks. I'm a Muslim and I've never drank any alcoholic drinks, much less know all the associated lingo! I just ran around doing a spot of very strange research to write this short response. ^o^; I'm sure my dad was confused by that, fff.

I totally based the setting on this scene. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6o_epMnGC58) That scene also happens to be a very good example of one-sided conversations with Gin... poor Vodka. xD; And Gin and Vermouth being, well, themselves.))

[identity profile] ravenchaser.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[Gin made the orders for the three of them, while Vodka continued to watch Bernkastel warily.

To Bernkastel's question, Gin gave her a small smile.]
Yeah.

[Vodka decided to make an attempt to be friendly.]

((We should start a club!

Yeahm Gin's really, really quiet. xD;))

[identity profile] ravenchaser.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[Gin's somewhat twisted smile was enough to convey that he was glad she liked it, though he didn't give anything else in the way of a response.]

[Vodka made another ridiculous, shocked expression, but it was all understandable, for her words were truly ridiculous.]

Vodka, you're too loud. [Gin responded quietly as he pushed Vodka's drink towards him.]

((We should find and recruit other members! A two-person club is too small.

Aha, I can believe that! Gin's the same way. He'll run his mouth off when the conversation involves killing and when he has to explain things to Vodka. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQ3-g3qgooo) Of course, Gin's explanations may or may not be accompanied with a gun pointed to your neck.

We're being much too cruel to Vodka right now, I must say.))

[identity profile] ravenchaser.livejournal.com 2011-05-19 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
[Gin follows suit, sipping his own shot of gin in relative silence. Vodka, still looking very confused, sighs before begining to drink.]

((Ahahahaha— she might never recover if we do.

We're so evil. xD;

I apologize for how short this response is, but I'm sort of not sure how to respond. Aha, maybe we should draw this thread to a close soon, unless, of course, you have something in mind! ^^))
