[So. Here's Mu. He materializes rather suddenly near his hammock and all but collapses on to one of the rocks that support it. There is one hand covering his mouth and he's pale. His expression is a mix of shock and sadness. There are tears in his eyes.

He stays like that a moment before taking a deep breath and sliding to the ground.]

[Goes to him and crouches down, gripping one of Mu's shoulders gently.]

Mu, what happened?

[Again, doesn't respond verbally, but pushes along a feeling of emptiness, like a part of the mind/heart/soul is gone]

[contract_star]

[Feels it, and goes somewhat cold, and not in a Contractor way. Long, long silence as he remembers Antimilos.]

[Then, barely audible,] Milo?

[lamb_of_gold]

[Just as quietly]
Yes.

[contract_star]

[Loss, loss, loss, Hei is so damn sick of loss and the damn hollowness it leaves.]

I'm sorry. Mu, I'm so sorry.

[lamb_of_gold]

I should not grieve, but...

[contract_star]

Yes. You should. [Hei checks himself, because it came out sharper than he wanted it to.]

I just mean...it's alright to grieve. It's human.

[lamb_of_gold]

He must have told you - Death is something every Saint is prepared for. I....It was a shock...to suddenly feel him gone.

[a twisted little smile] Then I may not grieve, for I am not human.

[contract_star]

Prepared for it, but--[Cuts himself off, gritting his teeth. Saints, right. He can't pretend to understand.]

You have emotions. You feel. And you care about him. That's enough. [It all comes out in a rush. So many stupid, confusing emotions. Hei shuts up.]

But nothing. I simply....I didn't expect to feel him die. I suppose I should have - I tracked his cosmo to Antimilos, after all...

My having emotions does not change the fact that his death was, as mine is, an inevitability. Besides, Should he see me now, I'm sure he'd disapprove.

[contract_star]

[Hei doesn't respond. He just sort of sits there, staring at the stars beneath the "floor", the fight gone out of him. He wills the walls to come up around him again and he closes off.]

[Again, touches his cosmo briefly to Hei's mind. This is the closest you're getting to a hug]

[Feels it, but he doesn't relax or speak. He sends back a sense of gratitude, though. And another "I'm sorry", though it has multiple meanings this time.]
