[there is a new building on the Plane! or, rather, a room--from the TARDIS, to be exact. Oliver has propped its door open with an oddly-shaped metal canister, allowing the Plane's residents to see that the room basically consists of an outside ledge around a giant ball pit. yes, a ball pit--filled to the brim with shiny, multicolored, hollow plastic balls]

[Oliver is standing in the doorway of the room, looking nervous but hopeful, and holding a gun] I figured we could use a break after, you know, everything. And I... [his expression slips slightly, but only for an instant] Well. I want everybody to have a chance for some fun. I wasn't sure I'd be able to get it all here, but it worked!

And this might make things even more interesting. Watch! [grinning, he turns to face into the room. first, he fires the gun at the ceiling, creating an oval outlined in blue. then he fires again, into the corner of the pit this time. anyone watching can now just see the edges of an orange oval in the pit. there are now two ovals rather like these. the balls around the orange one are pouring into it--only to reappear falling out of the blue hole in the ceiling. this is creating a sort of ball waterfall, which due to momentum is causing lots of flying balls as well. a few even go rolling out the doorway]

[Eithan stares at the multicolored cascade, jaw dropped.]

That... has got to be one of the most awesome things I have ever seen. Ever. [He laughs, grinning fit to split his face in half.] How th'ell did you even do that?!

[grins back, thrilled to see someone's excited about it. he gestures with the gun] My friend Irving gave me this. It's a...erm..."quantum tunnelling device." I knew it'd come in useful for something!

[Marta's seen the ball pit, but she hasn't seen the portal gun. Or the endless waterfall of spheres. So after a moment of watching said waterfall in awe, she turns her attention to Oliver and his portal gun.]

I told you it would be a great idea to share.

[smiles, glad to see her positive reaction] Yeah. Thanks, Marta! You were right.

[Nathan observes for a moment.]

Hey, I thought your Earth didn't have any technological shit that's actually interesting or cool.

Nathan! [waves, glad to see him] I'm not on Earth right now. And I got the gun from Irving. Isn't it fantastic?

Irving! [breaks out in a grin] This gun is fantastic! Look at that!

[pouts] It's not that fast! And that's why they're rolling in between.

[he hasn't really thought about the fact that they'll inevitably get progressively faster anyway. not yet, anyway]

[She's more interested in the gun, really.] That's amazing! It's like a mini black hole, isn't it?

[smiles when he sees her] Hey, Christine!

Uh...not exactly. I mean, it doesn't suck you in, and you come back out.

[Dino is going to watch the balls fall...and fall...and fall..and then he justgrins excitedly] Now that's just cool.

[grins back] I was hoping it'd turn out like this!

But hey, I don't think we've met. I'm Oliver. [gives him a friendly wave]

[initially, the Doctor doesn't see this display. no, instead, he sees a couple balls rolling towards him and at first figures it must be some random bric-a-brac that normally shows up on the Plane. however, after seeing a few more zoom towards him, he decides to head in the direction they came from--and soon enough sees the site before him]

You know, I almost forgot I had this room! Been a while since I've been down to that wing, actually. When did you find it? [leans around one side of the doorway, looking at ball waterfall and the two portals with a big, excited grin on his face] Ohhhh hello... Is that a reality bending portal maker? [slips into the room and steps right up to the portal at the edge of the ball pit and pulls out his sonic and starts to scan it]

[doesn't look at Oliver while he scans] Oh, and by the way, I expect most of those to find their way back in here. You wouldn't believe the sort of things I had to go through to get this many!

[Oliver opens him mouth a couple times to reply, but as the Doctor just keeps talking, he decides he's better off waiting. but he gets rather wide-eyed at that last comment] Uh...we could shut the door?

[This. This. Looks. So. Much. Fun! Hiccup squeals happily as she is curiously coming closer, eying the colorful thing with huge sparkling eyes.]

Wha- how did you do that?! What do you mean jump in? You can go inside it? Oliver, tell me, tell me what is this! [It's pretty colorful, alright, and if you can GO IN, and PLAY then she wants to know. Oh Hel, she would go in anyway...]

Hey, Hiccup! [that is still so, so weird to say. but he grins at her reaction] It's a ball pit! Go ahead, give it a go.

[That is... huh... quite impressive.]

Saga! [waves] Wanna try the ball pit?

[because that would be absolutely hilarious, so of course he has to encourage it]

[waves encouragingly at the person he doesn't recognise] Hey! New here, I take it?

Hey, would ye look at that! [Jamie's gaze is darting back and forth between the gun and the portals, clearly fascinated by it all.]

How are the balls getting from the floor to the ceiling, though?

[grins, amused by Jamie's reaction] Basically? Science.

[other than donning a black security guard uniform, Rory doesn't look all that different from the last time Oliver would have seen him. but for Rory, a lot of time has passed, and while he occasionally came to the Plane to get a book to read, he didn't spend much of it there. in fact, he's only on the Plane again to grab another book, though he's gone through much of the library by now.

when he sees what Oliver has created, he tucks a small book into his jacket pocket as he comes over, marvelling at the sight. after a moment, he finally speaks:]

Oliver, what is that? [points at the portal gun] And where is this?

Rory! Oh hey, nice disguise. [because obviously that's the only reason a Roman would wear a uniform like that]

[proudly] It's a ball pit. And this--[hefts the gun]--can make quantum tunnels! That's what Irving called them, anyway.
