[today, Oliver arrives on the Plane with a bed in tow. not just any bed, but what appears to be a standard-issue hospital bed from the 27th century. he is also wearing a hospital gown, and he has an oxygen tube hooked to his nose and an IV in his arm, although the appartuses the devices were attached to don't seem to have made it to the Plane with him. hopefully he didn't actually need those. interestingly enough, there is no sign of injury on Oliver himself, except for perhaps the IV in his arm. but in addition to all this, Oliver looks terribly startled to have arrived on the Plane]
What the--what is this!? [looks around him in confusion, then gives the IV a suspicious look] I thought I wasn't on anything strong! Why the hell... This was a dream! [turns upward, apparently addressing the stars themselves] A dream, you hear?
I know I was wishing to be anywhere but hospital, but blimey, that didn't mean I wanted to start hallucinating! [sighs] I wonder how long this is gonna last... [props himself up a bit, pulling the tube out of his nose as he turns to take a look around him]
[ooc: This is NOT an experiment. Oliver is suffering from some nasty side effects of chemical exposure during an incident on Gondovan. He currently has amnesia stretching through the last several years of his life. His memory will slowly return, but for now he doesn't remember the Plane or anyone on it, nor how his empathy ability works. he also doesn't remember the details of his life on Gondovan or even the end of his travels with the Doctor. So, enjoy the confused Brummie!]

A "merger"? Okay, so...what merges?
no subject
[As for merges, well...] I think it's different things for different people. Ours is a bit of my home back in Scotland with a bit of your home in Gondovan. Not the hospital though, I don't think.

[at first he looks interested in this whole "merger" idea, but by the end of that sentence, he's a mixture of confused and horrified] But...Gondovan's not my home.

Look, Oliver, it may not have been at the time ye remember, but it's where ye live now.
no subject
Or...did I only tell you my cover story?
no subject
[gently] Oliver, you're...not traveling with the Doctor anymore. Ye decided to stay on Gondovan.

Look, whatever it is you're on about, I must just be there doing something for the Doctor. Maybe I didn't want to tell everybody about it. But I wouldn't be staying there forever! Chloe's on Earth.
no subject
Aye, maybe so. Look, let me take Trouble back and I'll tell ye about my Doctor, alright?

[Jamie drops from the Plane, and is gone about as long as it would take to put a ferret back into its cage. When he reappears, Trouble is definitely nowhere to be seen, and Jamie is rubbing his hands together. There. That's done.]
Now, where was I?

Oh! That's right, ye wouldn't remember how to leave right now. It's how ye get back home. Ye think about it, and then you're back there. Ye do the same to come back here.

[He shakes his head, then.] I'm not sure. I've tried going a few feet one way or the other, but nothing more than that. I think if ye tried now, you'd only wind up back in hospital.
no subject
[makes a face] I'll take your word for it, then.
no subject
Aye, well, somebody made a choice, and we all wound up here. Don't ask me if it was something in the choice that did it, though. We've not been able to figure out who it is to ask.

[surprised] Oh. Uh... [looks down at his hospital gown. wherever that list is, it's definitely not on him] Maybe it's in my things at the hospital. I'll look for it later.

Look, if you're planning on staying here a wee bit, maybe we should find ye something to wear. Or at least take those tubes out.
