[you all remember that chunk of beach the Doctor dragged up to the astral plane, don't you? Of course you do! Well, he's standing at it. In the snow. Yes, there's snow. The water is still lapping up on the shore but the sandy beach is mixed with snow. Most of the snow is gathered around the palm trees. The trees themselves have multi-coloured orbs of light floating gently around them.

The Doctor, for the record, is in his blue suit with the long brown coat on and there's a set of wrapped Christmas-looking presents at his feet. He's humming lightly, hands shoved into his pockets, looking around occasionally as if waiting for someone]

{Smiles} Is it Christmas for the Doctor too?

[looks up and beams at her] Nah. This is actually for a friend. She's never had Christmas before and I thought she might enjoy it. It's Christmas for you, then?

Next Monday, actually. Though, that's really nice of you! Christmas is such a nice time of year in comparison to...well, the rest. People are so much nicer, it seems like.

They usually are! 'Course, you get Scrooges, too, but most people enjoy marking winter with Christmas. [smiles] Doing anything special for Christmas?

Well, going to a party, but Amshel arranged that for us. He has connections with people so he can get into the elite parties, you know? It's kind of neat to meet all the famous people of the time, so that's always kind of neat.

That could be fun! Always did like parties. Usually. You must meet interesting people, then. Will you pay all of us a visit, too?

Hm, I hadn't thought about it, but I think I will. About halfway through, those parties get pretty boring, so I might visit then. It seems like it's not Christmastime for other people, but maybe an out of place Christmas party would be fun.

I think a Christmas party could be fun! A few friends, food, laughing, those little crackers you pull and the funny hats shoot out, that sort of thing. Besides, it's always Christmas somewhere.

Crackers? Those sound neat, though I've never seen anything like that before.

Actually, hang on a tic... [digs through his pockets and pulls out a cracker, handing it to her] Just give the end a good tug and point it, erm, away from us.

Oh...{Takes it carefully and turns away before she pulls the end carefully and OH GOD IT EXPLODED. She made a noise of surprise and took a step back, but watched the contents almost...warily} Ah, those are really...I wasn't expecting that!

[laughs a bit] Don't worry, it's completely harmless. Here... [he scoops up a paper hat and holds it properly, as if holding a crown] You're already royalty but may as well have a crown. [and places it on her head]

{She looks up at the paper hat/crown in surprise before she smiles with a soft laugh} Well, then thank you~ I've been missing my crown lately. {And she even curtsies politely}

[smiles back and even bows a bit for her] Then a crown for Christmas!

It's beautiful, of course~ I'll have to make sure to get some of these. It's always fun to be royalty for a day, ne?

[beams back] I always find the parties fun, long as they aren't being too stuffy.

Oh, but royal parties for a man are so much easier. I mean, you wouldn't have had to wear stays and all of that extra stuff! I bet that's changed since I was with royalty, but still, I can't imagine who thought suffocating yourself was a good idea. Ne, that just makes a party horribly stuffy, and not in a pleasant way~

That's why it's best to travel with me to those parties. You can wear whatever you like. I'm not much of a stickler for era-appropriate wear, so occasion-appropriate is just out of the question.

{Laughs} Well, if that's the case, then I'll make sure to invite Doctor as my escort if I were to get invited to that kind of party.

[laughs and smiles as well] I'd be quite honoured.

It would be fun, wouldn't it? Ah, but you know how to dance, right? It just wouldn't do otherwise~

[always gets just a bit flustered at that] Ahh, well, 'course I can. I think I'm a good dancing partner.

{Tilts her head slightly} Oh, well that's good. Though, the way you say that...Are you sure?

'Course I am. Just say when. I just haven't properly danced like that in a while, 's all.

{Holds her hands out with a smile} Then how about now?
