[you all remember that chunk of beach the Doctor dragged up to the astral plane, don't you? Of course you do! Well, he's standing at it. In the snow. Yes, there's snow. The water is still lapping up on the shore but the sandy beach is mixed with snow. Most of the snow is gathered around the palm trees. The trees themselves have multi-coloured orbs of light floating gently around them.

The Doctor, for the record, is in his blue suit with the long brown coat on and there's a set of wrapped Christmas-looking presents at his feet. He's humming lightly, hands shoved into his pockets, looking around occasionally as if waiting for someone]

[always gets just a bit flustered at that] Ahh, well, 'course I can. I think I'm a good dancing partner.

{Tilts her head slightly} Oh, well that's good. Though, the way you say that...Are you sure?

'Course I am. Just say when. I just haven't properly danced like that in a while, 's all.

{Holds her hands out with a smile} Then how about now?

[looks surprised - and a bit flustered still - but nods a bit and takes her hands] Now's a good time, yeah. [shifts to hold one of her hands and puts his other hand on her waist] This all right? Unless you prefer a different dance, I mean.

Ne, I don't really care about that~ After all, when I was Anastasia, I had my very own dance master. It was fun to learn all those dances, but because of that, it doesn't matter to me at all, Doctor. {Nods} So when you're ready~

[and thusly he starts dancing with her, humming a bit since they don't have music. he's not terrible, though probably a wee bit nervous. the experienced girls always do that to him]

Ne, you're pretty good. I thought maybe you were kidding~ {Smiles a little bit more} Though, you don't have to be nervous. I don't bite~

[laughs a little] No, I know. Well, you wouldn't without permission, I hope. [being playful] But no, I just was thinking of this party I went to with a friend once. She wanted me to dance because, 'every lonely little boy must learn to dance'.

I would never~ {Well, at least not to anyone here} Then she's a good friend! Dancing is really fun~ Ah, though it's kind of faded away over time it seems like. Ne, now it's all...Oh, I wouldn't even know what to call "dancing" today. A fine waltz or minuet is so much more fun that what humans call dancing today~

She was very good, yes. [smiles, shaking his head] I can't say I'm too good at that sort of dancing, either. Although, swing dancing can be quite fun. Ever tried that?

Swing dancing? I can't say I've even heard of that, so no.

[beams, just smirking somewhat] Then how about I show you some new moves?

...Oh, well sure! It'd be fun!

[smiles and shifts to hold both her hands, pushing her out and pulling her back in again] Swing is a little more loose, I think.

{She makes a noise of surprise, and holds his hands a little more tightly} Ah, so it's a faster dance?

[laughs and pulls her closer, swinging them both around] Oooh, a bit, yeah. Not going too fast, am I?

N-Not at all! {Okay, maybe a little, but she's trying. Diva's eyes are turned towards his feet as she tries to follow his footsteps}

[slows down enough for her to watch his steps] You're doing very well.

{She's watching intently, so she just nods absently} Ah...When was this popular? I think I missed this completely. I've never seen one like it!

[still teaching her~] Oooh, the 1920's? continued on into the 50's or so, popularity wise.

That would be why, then! I wasn't awake for either or those times...{And slowly but surely she's getting it}

[smiles, carefully increasing the speed enough that she can keep up and still learn] Oooh, really? Now that's a shame. You missed a brilliant era. Well, you missed the stock market crash and the depression over in America, too, then...and all the war in Europe. But! I always enjoyed the culture bits. Things like this.

Ah, well I was there for the wars. Both of them, actually. I think I just wake up at bad times~ {Or, you know, her Chevalier had a hand in causing those kind of things, but that's not important~}

[shakes his head] Well now I'll have to show you what you've been missing out on, won't I? Not fair that you only see the bloody bits. There's so much more than that. [dips her and smiles] Christmas is coming up for you, eh? Could give you a few things from the Jazz era.
