[Alex is used to being trapped in places for long periods of time against her will, so she's less concerned by the current events on the Plane and more... annoyed.

At least, she was. Right now she is stumbling through a busy section of the Plane with urgency, her head whipping around as she searches for something she hasn't found yet.

If your character is to approach her now, whether they've met her in the past or not, they will find her face change from panic to tender recognition. She stands completely still, as if no one around her exists anymore, a calm smile claiming her face as she stares at your character.]

... Molly?

[She'll approach your character quickly, tears brimming her eyes as her smile turns into a desperate grin.]

Molly, is that really you? What are you doing here?

I wouldn't know. Not from the parent's end, anyway. [...shakes her head] We should get to some proper shelter. Not that I can't handle rampaging zombies, but I'd rather save my bullets.

Yeah, okay. [She takes a step and stumbles, still a little woozy from her hallucination.] There must be someone back where you're from that you miss.

[Alex offers her a thankful smile as she gets her bearings.] Maybe that would be easier. I didn't mean to get attached, and it's just made everything all that much more complicated.

[wry smile] I know how that is. [steps back, letting her hands fall; one automatically lingers at the gun strapped to her thigh] It's...definitely simpler, this way.

[Alex takes a few steps to illustrate she can move properly, and crosses her arms with a sigh.] Maybe. But sometimes... It's nice, having someone to care about.

[her hand is rough with calluses and old scars, her grip carefully light] Same here. [wry smile] Never thought I'd rather be dealing with demons and lawyers.

As well as ghosts and hallucinating coppers? [Alex didn't need to feel Kate's hand to know the woman could have quite the story to tell, but shaking it only gives basis to Alex's suspicions.] I don't think anyone expects what life hands to them. I certainly didn't.

[the smile widens] You're not kidding. I went from homicide detective to cross-country demon hunter to mystic destiny.

[Alex laughs.] I guess that isn't much more insane than time-traveling copper. If the Plane has showed me anything, it's either that I've gone completely mad or I'm just as sane as everyone else.

[her eyes widen at that] Really? Huh. Well, at least we're in good company.

[she nods] I have to admit, it's a little strange being in a place that I can actually talk about the bizarre things that have happened to me without worrying over being locked up or losing my badge.

[her smile twists, then, into something darkly wistful] I can imagine.

[Alex's look turns a bit inquisitive.] You must come from a world very different from mine, though. I can't say I've had much experience with demons.

[At least, not a lot that she's aware of yet...]

Maybe not. Most people don't know about them, and most of the people who do are happy to keep it that way. [shakes her head] Stupid, if you ask me.

[nods towards the direction of the library] Come on, let's talk while we walk.

[Alex nods and starts towards the library.]

Are the police aware of them? Or are you referring to some kind of... government cover up?

[bitter smile] If there is, the police aren't high up enough to know about it. [and she turns pensive] I know there are some military groups that work with demons. Covertly. From what I've heard, not very well. Too convinced they're working with science to be as effective as they could.

[Alex laughs, equally as bitterly.] I've had to come to terms recently with the idea that there are some things science simply cannot explain. It's not easy for people to accept.

[with wry sympathy] I hear you there. I found out when I shot a guy and he got up again.

[She's getting better at accepting things, but that doesn't mean they don't surprise her.] Demons can't be killed? That must be frustrating, if there's not even any way to stop them.

Oh, they can - you just have to know what does it. That one was a vampire. [she opens her coat to reveal the stake strapped to her thigh] Staking, beheading, burning.
