[a dark-haired boy of about seven is visiting the Plane, currently chasing an unfortunate(?) baby dwarft rabbit by the name of Samwise across the starry floor. this seven-year-old is rather oddly dressed, currently wearing only a T-shirt that was clearly made for someone far, far bigger than he is, as it is big enough to cover him completely. his arms even seem to be lost in it. but it does look like he was wearing more clothing not long ago--there are oversized shoes and trousers lying in a heap on the Plane floor a little ways behind him]

[but the boy is definitely not worried about that] Come here! Come play! [bounds after the rabbit, looking rather excited and gleeful. now that he's no longer burdened by too much oversized clothing, he's picking up speed. unfortunately, he's picked up a bit too much for the slick floor. he loses his balance, falling face-first and sliding along by his shirt] Oof!

[the little rabbit freezes in place, watching the spectacle with twitching ears and apparently deciding that his pursuer must have lost track of him. he stays perfectly still for the moment]

[the boy, on the other hand, is pulling himself back up with a bit of trouble--it is rather slick, and his hands are lost in the sleeves of the shirt. but he does get there and, after a quick look around, realises he's landed right next to the rabbit. grins]

Hah! Got you!

[reaches out and grabs the rabbit, but he overbalances as he rocks back and ends up sitting on his bum, the rabbit in his hands. he looks down at it happily]

Hey bunny! My name's Ollie. What's yours? [starts to pet him, looking quite pleased with himself]

[ooc: It's time for another experiment for Oliver! He is now seven and temporarily not an empath. I won't be able to tag this until tomorrow, but I'm looking forward to it!]

[Bemused, Leela listens to Oliver's attempts to catch the rabbit. (Not that she realises who he is, of course.) Eventually, she decides to speak up.]

That is not how you catch a rabbit.

[glances up at her] Oh, hi! [he would wave, but his hands are busy, so he just smiles] I got him! [holds out Samwise to show her] How would you catch a rabbit?

[After a moment, she reaches out to pet him. She'd also have used a knife, but she isn't going to point that out.]

[considers that] You think I made him scared?

It doesn't matter now. Unless you want to hunt him?

[She's teasing a little. It's obvious that he views the animal as a pet rather than anything else.]

[Braxiatel looks at young Ollie curiously, absently wondering what Peter will look like when he's that age.] Samwise. [Braxiatel is also absently wondering if they have clothing for seven-year-olds at the Collection. Other than the old Victorian clothing they have stored away and all that.] The rabbit's name is Samwise, I mean. He belongs to a friend of mine.

[looks up at the voice] Samwise? That's a funny name!

[but if the rabbit belongs to someone he knows...] Since I found Samwise, it's okay if I play with him, right? I'll be careful!

Oh, I'm sure Oliver won't mind. As long as you're very careful.

[But unlike with Peter, they don't have to worry about Ollie here not knowing his own strength and accidentally hurting someone.]

Oliver! [laughs] That's my name, too.

Don't worry, Mister, I'll be careful. [because clearly anyone dressed like that should be addressed as Mister]

Is it? What a coincidence. [Braxiatel seems calmly amused by this fact. In actuality, his response is more like 'This can't go well.'] And what is your last name, Oliver?

ahhhhh psychonauts flashback

[ Sefton, uh, well. He'll just be over here... and staring... because. Well. A) it's a kid. B) it's a kid named 'Ollie'. C) said kid seems to have recently become too small for his clothes and there's a distinct possibility of something that Sefton doesn't want to contemplate right now. ]

[Oliver doesn't notice him yet, as he's much too busy with Samwise]

[ He keeps staring, wondering if he should say something. This is... yeah, probably not a thing he wants to get involved in, huh. ]

[Sefton doesn't have a choice. Samwise tries to slip out of Ollie's hands, and the boy turns just enough to catch sight of him. looks at him curiously] Are you playing hide 'n seek?

[polarization]

[ Oh. Well. He stiffens, shifts just a bit, as if he's ready to turn around and leave if need be, then... answers. ] ... What?

[she spots the clothes first, wondering why the hell someone's left them there, but she quickly makes her way across the Plane just in time to hear the boy say his name. she looks at the back of his head a little oddly--surely, they haven't started to bring little kids here, have they?--and circles around to have a look at the boy's face]

Hello sweetheart. [squats down near him to be a little closer to his eye level. she notices the bunny, but...thinks that can't be right] Are you lost? My name's Donna.

Hi! [gives her a smile] I dunno. [and he seems distinctly unconcerned about this] Have you seen my Mum and Dad?

Is that his name? That's a funny name! I just found him here. [is still petting him] He's really soft!

[Normally Asch is good at avoiding children, but when he pops onto the Plane he's almost assaulted by a kid chasing a bunny. Cranky soldier type is cranky.]
