[There's a strangely attractive woman taking over your library today, Plane. Sirkka is indulging herself. On the long study table beside her, there's a setting of Earl Grey for four and some delicious chocolate-dipped cookie treats— all things she took from the community kitchen, of course. Sirkka has her long legs crossed over another chair while she sips her tea. She's enjoying her book too much to care about manners, even laughing every once in a while. Must be a comedy right?

Nah, just Twilight.]

This really is like secondary school.

[If one is as empathic as she is, they might detect a sort of dark, lingering thought beneath all of this that she's trying to distract herself from.]

[Sirkka looks up almost immediately and blinks once or twice, then smiles.]

Oh yes. It's about a boring little girl who falls in love with a vampire, and they rebel against society and have awkward heated snogging sessions.

{...sounds like her whole life genderswapped}

Oh, that doesn't sound so bad! What is the vampire like? Is he nice?

It's written poorly though, like one of those self-fulfillment stories you write in your diary and never show anyone. Or perhaps that was just me. [Hee hee.]

Ah, yes, he's nice enough, but very possessive-- more like a father than a boyfriend. The way he dotes on her crosses the line from attractive to just plain weird at times. It's very disappointing.

{She smiles a little at the description of Edward, thinking of another father/boyfriend vampire. oh god her life is twilight /burns it}

But I guess they way it's written, it's supposed to be a good thing? I don't think it is, really.

You're right. It isn't. But when you're young and naive, it's hard to know the difference. [She shuts the book.] Would you like some tea? There's plenty, and I love treating my conversation.

I don't know if you really have to be young to believe something like that. Or maybe it's just a special case? {it is}

{Brightly} I would, though! Ne, my name is Diva, by the way. I didn't think I had seen you before, so I thought I should say hello.

It's aimed at teenage audiences, but you're right about that, too. [She frowns lightly, but it's replaced with a welcoming smile as she pours Diva some tea.]

Thank you for saying hello, Diva! I'm Sirkka. I've been here for a little while, but I'm busy with new projects so I haven't been around as much as I'd like.

{She smiles in return and sits}

Mm, that's alright. I've been pretty busy too, so I haven't been getting to meet people like I usually like to. I tend to know most of the people here, just because I've been here so long, but there have been a lot of new people lately, it seems like.

It's a good time to come back, isn't it? Now that everything's settled down a bit for once. [She pushes the plate of treats in Diva's direction.] Help yourself to these, too, if you'd like.

{She looks shyly at the treats, a light flush coming to her face as her stomach growls. The whole food being delicious thing is something she forgets about. But she tries to ignore the sound and cover it up with conversation by daintily taking one treat (for now)}

I guess it's better than any other time. Things are never really that quiet around here, but compared to the last few months, it's better.

[Awwww. Sirkka just... smiles invitingly. She has more where that came from, since she enjoys spoiling herself too.]

Mm. I'm not going to take it for granted this time.

There's so much I still don't know about how this place works and why it does what it does.

I don't think anyone does, though. I've been here for three years and I don't really know anything about it. Well, not really anything that other people don't already know. But I'm not really the kind of person to look into that kind of thing, either.

Wow, that's a long time. [She sips her tea.] ... It's true that I'm a little more concerned about what happens to the people involved in this 'experiment' than how it all comes together, but they aren't mutually exclusive of each other. I have some learning to do.

I always forget that it's an experiment until someone brings it up, really. I think it's done a lot of good things for me, so I can't complain that much. You could always try talking to the Twins. They like sweets, I think it is.

Hmmm, really? You don't think it would be a waste just to have tea with them and talk about things I ought to already know?

I don't think so. Someone that I...used to know, he worked for them. He would tell me that they dangerous, but he was really really cautious. {Fondly} Pretty close to paranoid, I think. Ah, but every time I've talked to the Twins, they've been very sweet. They might start speaking in riddles if you ask them things, but they're really not that bad.

I'll keep that in mind. It might be worth having some words with them. Nice words, mind you; I'm not about to show aggression toward someone with an influence on fate.

Well, you wouldn't be the first to be mad at them... People get mad a lot, especially Gene, but that's Gene. As long as you're nice, I think they'll be nice too.

That's good to know. [sssssip] So this place has been around for... three years, you said?

Longer than that, actually. There are one or two people that have been here longer than I have. Just Mu and Gene, I think. I don't think anyone else is left.

I wonder what it was like before. [She shakes her head.] So what do you do for a living? You seem very cultured. I like your clothes a lot.

{Surprise compliment out of the blue! So Diva smiled a bit more warmly} Oh, thank you. I'm an opera singer, so I always have to look my best. Well... No, I guess I don't have to, not in this age, but it was always proper before. There's no reason to change that now.

{She's still eating snacks one by one with no end in sight} What about you, Sirkka?

An opera singer! That's impressive. I don't do anything artistic. [She smiles a bit.

Sirkka glances at the plate and wonders if she should go get some more. Oh well. Back to tea.]

I specialize in emotions. In people, I mean. I'm a counselor.

{She frowns, not at all as light or airy anymore. The last 'counselor' she met was such a douche.

Also sociopathic, but. She decides not to comment on it, since she really doesn't want to go there.}

Oh, thank you! Ne, but you can probably do something artistic. I think everyone can, somewhat.

[Sirkka picks up a stranger sort of reading from Diva, much like she has this whole conversation, but doesn't remark on it.]

Well... I've always liked photography. I took it for a bit in school and had a lot of fun.
