[There is a Doctor wandering the snow-covered hills on the Plane again. He's actually without his leather jacket, simply wearing a black jumper and trousers. He scans the air with his screwdriver, frowning, before bending down to scoop up some snow]

All this heat and humidity beats the ice caves on Raxacoricofallapatorius. But it's wrong. This snow ought to be melting. [he pockets the screwdriver, before packing the snow into a ball and tossing it between his hands] Wonder if it'll melt with the storm -- there's got to be one soon, the weather's perfect for it.

[pauses] Perfect if you're on Earth, anyway. Of all the planets in all the universes to choose from, why'd the Machine pick Earth for a weather simulation?

[ooc: Nine has been canon-bumped to the end of Boom Town!]

[grins] You ought to make him a box that's got a series of tunnels to run around in, he'd like that.

Aye...I could, at that. Maybe I won't have to chase him around the TARDIS if I do.

What were ye saying about a storm, anyway?

I was saying the temperature's perfect for the average storm on Earth. Doesn't it feel familiar?

Now that ye mention it, it does. I didn't think ye could get a storm here, though.

I didn't think you could either, but having snow here doesn't make sense either. [gestures at their surroundings] But we've got to remember it's a machine...it can prolly make any sort of weather it wants. The question is, why this weather?

Maybe the Machine likes winter? Or storms? Or...maybe it's just a wee bit confused for some reason. Crossed circuits or something, aye?

[he looks so proud] Jamie, have I ever mentioned you're brilliant?

Oh! [As realization sets in, a rather pleased grin appears on Jamie's face.] Aye, well, maybe once or twice.

[Mind you, he's not sure exactly what -part- of what he said was brilliant, but he'll go with it anyway.]

So do ye think it'll sort itself out, then?

I think we're gonna find out soon enough -- those clouds look like they'll burst any day now.

[gloomily] I was afraid of that. Maybe it won't be so bad.

...Ye don't believe that either, do ye?

'Course I don't. It's the Plane. [not that he'd believe any differently if it wasn't the Plane, but still]

Aye. That's true.

[After a pause.] Could we not do something about it?

[frowns] I don't know. Not sure there's a way to stop the storm, but hopefully we can stop whatever's coming with it.

[Jamie's about to say something, when the ferret starts trying to nip at his fingers, and he frowns down at it.] Trouble. That's what ye are. Hang on, Doctor, I'll be right back.

[He drops from the plane for a moment, then returns sans ferret but with a black umbrella - which he offers to the Doctor.]

Here. Let's go see if we can figure out what we need to do, aye?
