fifteenth pact ❖ {out of body experience}
[Emil is studying pretty hard, or at least looking for something. He's pulling out books, thumbing through them, then setting them back on the shelves of the grand Meltokio library he's brought with him.]
Nothing's ringing any bells...
[Along the way he's ditched his scarf andgirly sleeveless tunic for a black tank top. He looks strangely... normal. At one point he takes a pen out from behind his ear and scribbles something down on his palm.]
There's definitely been some kind of mis-continuity, a bit of lost time. No evidence of physical trauma, so it must be emotional... Long-term memory still leaves much to be desired. There must be a pattern I'm not seeing. If only I could find my notes. [Sigh.] Now that's a lost cause if I ever saw one.
{OOC: This is not an experiment! This is what happens when you have DID and retrograde amnesia at the same time. If any of you remember this post... well, this is a continuation of that.}

I'm sorry. You're confusing me with what I can only assume is my cousin.
[... omg no stutter?]
I had this problem the first time I showed up here, too.

Where did you last use your notes?
[It's the best conversation starter he is capable of.]

He blinks and looks over his shoulder at the interruption. Well... he's met more awkward people than Satoshi. So Emil just smiles, as warm and personable as can be, and answers the question.]
I was taking notes here. Well— not in this library, but in another one on the Astral Plane. After some very interesting meetings with some people here, I misplaced them, and I haven't been able to find them since.
Have you seen a little blue notebook anywhere?

This must be a nice place to study...
[Priorities!]
...Ah! Did you say lost time?

[A pause, and then he looks at Haruhi. Someone just as andro as he is! Wow! Of course he isn't thinking that, BUT WE ALL KNOW THE TRUTH, LITTLE RATATOSK KNIGHT...]
Ah, yes, among other things.

It's a little more serious than that, unfortunately.

Sorry... have we met? I don't recall.

Oh! Doctor! Pleased to meet you again. [... No stutter? What?] Although, I have a bit of bad news... That notebook you gave me is gone. I can't find it anywhere. I was going to return it, and update you as promised, but it looks like that isn't going to happen. I really am sorry.

[He scritches the back of his head.] Anyway, yes, you gave me a little blue notebook. I am fairly certain of it. I kept some good notes in there, in case what I'd forgotten came back to me, little bits at a time. And it did, as far as I know, though not completely.
... Though, the fact that we met again and I don't remember it is quite distressing.

[listens carefully, noting how Emil doesn't seem quite so...shy or jumpy (though granted, he isn't making any quick movements like before)] Sounds like something I'd do, but I'm afraid you're thinking of another version of me. I only met you when I gave you the watch.
But just to check--because, well, I did meet so many people that day--you're name is Emil, yes?
no subject
[He also seems a bit more confident-- he's standing up straighter. But that might be because he's around BOOKS. Who knows.] Oh, another version? That's... depressing, to say the least, but common fare for the Plane.
[He smiles sadly at that last part and shakes his head.] My name's not Emil. Everyone seems to confuse me with him; I had this problem the first time I arrived. I think we might be distantly related, though--
[He pulls out the watch and looks at it.]
--how did I get this, if that's the case? Maybe he gave it to me, and I forgot... that's just as likely as anything else.
no subject
Ahhh, but that--[points at the watch]--is something I really did give you. This me, not the other me. Even have a matching one myself! [digs into his pockets for it and finally pulls out one that's identical in almost every way--except for the colour of the watch-band itself.] Well, close to it, anyway. That's how you can identify us. I'll have a watch and the other one won't.
