[lamb_of_gold]

[It's taken the better part of a day, but Mu has finally settled somewhere, while the egg in his arms wiggles and jerks - whatever's inside of it really wants out. He sets the egg on his lap, keeping a gentle hold so it won't roll away or break.

Wiggle.
Wiggle wiggle.
Jerk wiggle jerk kick.
CRACK

Bits of the shell go flying as a tiny claw emerges, then a second. They scrabble around a bit, breaking away the edges of the hole until a full third of the egg is gone. Now a head pops out, shaking off some excess debris. After a moment's pause, the body follows.

Mu seems quietly delighted by the tiny thing in his lap, now crawling around and exploring. He picks it up gently to inspect. It's a tiny chinese dragon, about two hands long and an opalescent white colour with a darker underbelly and a dark green mane. It nibbles one of his fingers experimentally. Mu smiles.]

Well hello there.

That is fantastic! Look at him! [stares, grinning, at the dragon on his hand]

[lamb_of_gold]

[The dragon stares back, then lets out a juvenile little growly-roar.]

My my, I think it said hello.

[oliverplus]

Hah! Hey there, little guy.

Mu, what do you think you're gonna name him?

[lamb_of_gold]

[ i am dwagon! heer me rawr!]

I've a few ideas, but I think I will settle on a name once he's settled down somewhat.

[oliverplus]

Settled down? He's just playing. [brings his hand closer to his face, wanting to get a closer look at it]

[lamb_of_gold]

[It sniffs at his nose]

I'd not want to give him an ill-fitting name.

[oliverplus]

[laughs, pulling back]

No, I guess not. [reaches out with his free hand to run it over the dragon's back]

[lamb_of_gold]

[The dragon grumbles a satisfied sort of grumble and leans into it.]

I must say, he reminds me very much of someone I know.

[oliverplus]

[strokes the dragon. he'll give him back eventually, Mu, really]

Really? Who?

[lamb_of_gold]

A fellow I hold a great deal of respect for.

[oliverplus]

[curious] So what do they have in common?

[lamb_of_gold]

Curiosity, dragons and the colour green at the moment.

[oliverplus]

[glances up from stroking the dragon] What, they both like green?

[lamb_of_gold]

Something like that, yes.

[oliverplus]

[totally not getting it] Well, if he reminds you of a friend of yours, maybe that'll help you come up with a name? [makes a bridge with his fingers, wondering if he can get the dragon to climb from one hand to the other]

[lamb_of_gold]

[It does, and continues to crawl its way up Olivers arm. Have a dragon sniffing at your ear!]

Circumstances make that difficult at the moment. Perhaps I'll let Kiki come up with a name.

[oliverplus]

[laughs; that tickles!]

Oh! Yeah, I bet she'd love getting to do that. But be careful. I had a mate once, his little sister named their puppy Sugarpeanut. Their male puppy! But I bet she could come up with something good for this guy.

[lamb_of_gold]

Kiki is a he, Oliver.

[oliverplus]

...oh. [sheepish] Sorry! But you might have better luck for a dragon name, in that case.

[turns his head toward the dragon as best he can] What do you think?

[lamb_of_gold]

I'm sure he'll come up with something.

[The dragon rubs it's head against Oliver's nose]

[oliverplus]

[laughs] Mu! [that's his way of saying "lookit what your dragon's doing!" without being quite that childish]

oh god I haven't used this icon in forever

[lamb_of_gold]

[Mu collects the dragon from Oliver's shoulders, biting back laughs of his own.] Friendly too, hmm?

blame the dragon?

[oliverplus]

[can't help being a little disappointed that he's gone, but he smiles anyway because that was fantastic] He is for sure!

But of course~

I suppose I should figure out what he eats, hm?
