[It's taken the better part of a day, but Mu has finally settled somewhere, while the egg in his arms wiggles and jerks - whatever's inside of it really wants out. He sets the egg on his lap, keeping a gentle hold so it won't roll away or break.

Wiggle.
Wiggle wiggle.
Jerk wiggle jerk kick.
CRACK

Bits of the shell go flying as a tiny claw emerges, then a second. They scrabble around a bit, breaking away the edges of the hole until a full third of the egg is gone. Now a head pops out, shaking off some excess debris. After a moment's pause, the body follows.

Mu seems quietly delighted by the tiny thing in his lap, now crawling around and exploring. He picks it up gently to inspect. It's a tiny chinese dragon, about two hands long and an opalescent white colour with a darker underbelly and a dark green mane. It nibbles one of his fingers experimentally. Mu smiles.]

[Guess who wanders by with his own dark orange egg that is just beginning to crack] ...That is a dragon.

[comes up behind him, hearing the noise more than seeing what's happening] Mu! Did it hatch?

[Letting the little critter walk over his fingers and nom on them a bit] It is.

[Turns to look at Oliver - there's a mixture of glee and pride]

[yay, some positive emotions for once! grins back at him] Let's see him! [moves closer]

[Will crouch so he can get a better look at it] I thought they were suppose to be bigger.

[Mu shifts and holds up his hands - the dragon is twirling it's way up his arms slowly but stops when it sees Oliver]

Quite a handsome thing.

It's a baby still.

Oh wow! Is that a dragon?

[lamb_of_gold]

It is.

[The dragon goes back to nomming Mu's fingers]

It's so tiny! [leans in closer to get a better look, glancing at Mu for permission as he reaches out to touch it]

[Mu offers it up. The Dragon sniffs at Olivers fingers as it crawls on, holding on with tiny claws.]

I'd imagine it will grow in time.

[oliverplus]

[is a bit distracted] Mu! There's a dragon on my hand!

[lamb_of_gold]

[The dragon sniffs around]

So there is.

[oliverplus]

That is fantastic! Look at him! [stares, grinning, at the dragon on his hand]

[lamb_of_gold]

[The dragon stares back, then lets out a juvenile little growly-roar.]

My my, I think it said hello.

Hah! Hey there, little guy.

Mu, what do you think you're gonna name him?

[ i am dwagon! heer me rawr!]

I've a few ideas, but I think I will settle on a name once he's settled down somewhat.

Settled down? He's just playing. [brings his hand closer to his face, wanting to get a closer look at it]

I wonder how big it will grow then. [He reaches out to try petting the little thing]

[Jamie isn't entirely sure what that is that Mu has in his lap, so naturally he has to go over to get a better look.] Oh, ye have a wee serpent! Did that come from your egg?

[It goes from nomming Mu's finger to nomming on Shion's instead, although Shion's egg catches it's eye and it makes it's way over, sniffs it, and rubs it's head against it affectionately]

Not too large, I hope.

[lamb_of_gold]

[It sniffs at his nose]

I'd not want to give him an ill-fitting name.

[lamb_of_gold]

It did. Quite a pretty thing, isn't it?

[laughs, pulling back]

No, I guess not. [reaches out with his free hand to run it over the dragon's back]
