dog and time lord, together again for the first time.
[In the wake of all the death and the fighting and the dying and so on, the Doctor is sitting cross-legged on the ground, thinking. Though how much thinking she can manage to do is dubious, because she is very often distracted by a border collie puppy running around and tripping over itself and going OMG OMG OMG LOOK AT THIS!!! and licking and sniffing and in general being super-excited to be here.
They're going to get along fabulously.
She's also got the broken pieces of his shell in her lap, because it didn't seem quite right to just leave it behind. Not to mention, she might want to run tests on it, because of the whole dog from an egg thing.]

A few abrasions from what?

[He sighs, then, as it seems Three doesn't want to let things lie. Mental note to self, Jamie, trying out a fancier word to try and downplay things doesn't always work. Should have just stuck with 'Oh it's nothing.'] My sword, if ye must know. I was using it to help with bringing down the barrier.
[He's reluctant to admit the sonic resonator part of the equation, because he feels badly about borrowing it and then ruining it in the attack.]

Yes, I saw you there. What was on it?

[Sigh. Might as well get this over with. Disentangling himself from the puppy, he opens the satchel. There's a very-well wrapped bundle in there, but in a separate section is the burnt out remnants of what was once a sonic resonator. One, by the way, that while it fit on his sword, really shouldn't have been stuck on there to begin with, as it was meant to be part of a larger, more stable machine.]
[Pulling a face, he hands it over to the Doctor, if she wants to take it.] This.

[She accepts it and looks it over - it's fairly spent, and not particularly worth salvaging at this point. Not that she particularly cares; it can be replaced, after all. There's more important things.]
Do your hands hurt?

They'll get better, aye? We got ye out in time. That's what matters.
no subject
Mm? Oh, right. Yes. Out in time. [Yes, Doctor, there was a bit of rescuing going on. Lack of having to die, remember?]

And we stopped the deathmatches too. [Which was also important - but perhaps not so much to Jamie as making sure the Doctor didn't die, once he saw her down there. He's still feeling a little guilty about the resonator, though.]
Do ye think the res...reso...that thing I gave ye is fixable, Doctor?
