[The Doctor has seen Benny's match, and heard the announcement for the TARDIS and Sorin.

But he isn't watching that one -- he can't. Instead, he's standing by the black hole.]

I seek audience with the Emperor, under peaceful contract. According to Convention Fifteen of the Shadow Proclamation.

[He hasn't used those words in a long time, but he remembers that now. He remembers everything, but there's no time to brood.]

Doctor. What were you doing?

[his expression turns serious again] Didn't you think it was a bit odd, having an Emperor's box with no Emperor in it?

I was a little distracted at the time... But I thought there was somebody in there?

[nods] There was, but he wasn't the Emperor. Weber was very helpful in giving me a few tips, though.

Weber? That's the guy who signed that letter...! [ Which, okay, makes sense, if he was also watching the fights. ] What did he say?

It's more what he didn't say. But I know the Emperor is mixed in with all this, and I figure the best way to find out how is to have a few words with the man himself. [never mind that Weber told him to run for his life if he ever showed up >_>]

That there's something we're all missing. And if he doesn't, I won't stop trying to find him.

Something we're missing... [ He crosses his arms, thinking about that. ] Shouldn't we be working on trying to get these people out first? We can worry about who or who isn't involved once they're safe.
