But he isn't watching that one -- he can't. Instead, he's standing by the black hole.]

I seek audience with the Emperor, under peaceful contract. According to Convention Fifteen of the Shadow Proclamation.

[He hasn't used those words in a long time, but he remembers that now. He remembers everything, but there's no time to brood.]

[ Despite the fact that he's giving the Doctor room (whatever he's doing seems pretty serious), Roxas speaks much more softly than is probably appropriate. ]

[Oh Roxas. The Doctor closes the distance and hugs him tight.] Roxas. Glad to see you're alive.

[ Roxas' grimace is hidden in the hug, and he hugs back. He's still speaking softly, and he laughs quietly. ] Yeah, that makes two of us.

[smiles] They haven't thrown me in a match yet, but they might do. [he pulls back only slightly, just to get a good look at Roxas] You alright? Relatively speaking?

I really hope not... [ Roxas quirks a smile, eyes a little tight. ] Relatively speaking. Do you mind lowering your voice a bit, though...?

[ He sighs. ] Yeah. Everything's all... sensitive now.

[ Pauses, seeming a bit distracted. ] Actually, you sound a little weird.

Ah, there you are! Just the one I was hoping to find. I've got to talk to you. [and from his tone, you can bet he means business.

...or at least he means to. he gives Nine an odd look once he notices just what he's talking] You're talking to a black hole? Trying to become a stellar whisperer now, are you?

[rolls his eyes] 'Course not, don't be stupid. Thought I might be able to get someone's attention here, but maybe not. He hasn't shown up yet.

...What've you got to talk to me about?

Maybe if you put on a frilly pink tutu and danced around that might earn you some.

This. [hands Nine the letter he received] Oh, and before I forget, your card please.

[Nine trades him the card for the letter, ignoring the tutu comment] He thinks we can overwhelm the shield? [considers that] People have got post boxes, yeah? Or some do, anyway. We could drop notes in them.

...Wonder what he means about Weber, though. I've been chatting with him.

[quickly stamps the card, adding a fourth smiley face] Only some? No, that won't do. It needs to be bigger. Enough that Weber won't know what had hit him.

Oh, you have, have you? [he might have learnt that bit from Oliver's brief observation of the Emperor's box the day of his fight, but he doesn't add that]

[slips the card back in his pocket] How d'you suggest we get the rest of them together, then?

[he nods] Weber's the reason I'm trying to find the missing Emperor. There's something bigger going on here, something that's staring us in the face, and I think he's the key.

[Oliver has thankfully had time to recover from his resurrection, but he's still getting used to the changes it entailed. still, he gives the Doctor a smile as he walks over to join him, looking for all the world like this is any other adventure with the Doctor] Got a plan, I take it?

[the Doctor beams when Oliver joins him, and he gives him a tight hug. He's utterly thrilled to see him alive and well.] Er, sort of? Bit of a work in progress, you might say.

[laughs, hugging him back] I'm still here, Doctor.

[shakes his head at him, amused] Why am I not surprised. So, why the call for an emperor, then? Has the Plane got an emperor?

I'm glad, Oliver. I...I saw your match, from the Emperor's box. [well, the part that wasn't obscured from view, anyway. The Doctor's feeling some intense guilt right now.]

And it has got one, apparently. I'm hoping he'll help me sort all this out. If he won't...my Tenth and I have got a Plan B.

[frowns; softly] I know. [as brightly as he can manage] But it's all right. I'm back now!

So what's this Emperor like, then?

Oh! He showed me the letter from Shay. It was my idea to contact him. [he might be a bit proud about that] What's the plan? Can I help?

[he gives Oliver a fond smile] He showed me the letter too. And we'll need everyone's help, Oliver...we're gonna form a bit of a resistance.
