[let it not be said the TARDIS is without a sense of humour. as a matter of fact, she has an almost vicious one, and since it's April Fools Day on the Doctor's favourite planet, she's decided to use this quaint custom to rile things up. what can she say, it's been a rather stressful few days. she could use the fun.

and so! enter the Rani -- or, at least, a TARDIS!projection of the Rani, in all her arrogant and disdainful glory]

So this is where you've holed yourselves up, then, Doctor? Master? [sniffs] How very droll.

[have a gaping Ten, Rani-TARDIS] ...Rani?

You know the Doctor and the Master?

[glances at him imperiously, obviously better than he is] Yes?

Unfortunately. A pair of bumbling buffoons, both of them.

Always nice to meet someone else who thinks so.

You're- ...Why do you figure this is our fault?! [starting to grin a bit, though, because well, it's the Rani]

[shrugs nonchalantly] When isn't it your fault?

Oh? And who might you be?

--oh! I'm Rose. [Offers hand] You?

Oi! It's usually his fault anyway. But you! You're alive!

Blaming him only makes you look the bigger fool. And of course I am. [quirks a brow] I always knew you were a fool, Doctor, but you still somehow find ways to surprise me with your utter lack of intelligence.

[ignores your hand] The Rani.

[Oh, well] You a Time Lord...or, er...would it be lord? Anyway, are you a Time Lord, too?

I am. Are you one of the Doctor's ridiculous companions?

You haven't been through the time war yet, then... [makes a face, then leans in closer] Or are you... [and out come the glasses] ...Ah! Now that's clever! [grins widely] You're getting quite good at solidifying the particles.

[pouts prettily, letting the Rani's shape melt away, replaced by the Grey Lady] How did you know?

[laughs] The feel was just a bit off. You're good at masking it but it was enough to make me look closer. Any specific reason you felt like being the Rani?

I guess that'd be me, yeah.

I shall have to work on that, then. I'll trick you yet, Doctor. [and she smiles a little mischievously] I thought perhaps you'd appreciate the prank.

[raises an eyebrow] You guys? How are you uncertain of this?

Mostly 'cause it's never been put that way before.

[orz, just noticed the horrible typo orz]

You should still know for certain whether or not you are. All the Doctor's companions are as foolish and incredibly dull as he is. What he sees in you creatures is beyond me.

[You confused me horribly]

Maybe it's 'cause he wants someone as foolish and dull as he is to keep him company? Peas in a pod, and all that.

[forgive me ; ;]

I suppose that would make sense. He did always spend time with the Master, after all.

[Never--]
