[And once again, there is a newcomer to the Plane. This one appears to be a fairly short man with dark brown hair, who is wearing a black shirt that laces at the collar and a red kilt - one Jamie McCrimmon, by name. He stumbles for a moment, caught in mid-stride, then stops dead in his tracks.]

Hey! Where did that wee shop go?

[He glances around in bewilderment.]

Och, where am I?

[Scratching his head as he tries to figure this out, he turns and finds himself face to face with a strange building with the word 'Information' printed on a sign. He stares at it for a moment before reaching forward, taking one of the brochures, and starting to read.]

An "out-of-your-universe-experience." Not that again. A brico...what?

[This is all too confusing. He crumples up the brochure and throws it away, then sets off from the kiosk.]

Maybe if I can find the Doctor...

[Looking around, though, that seems to be an impossible task.]

Aye, well. Someone with some sense has to be around here somewhere. I'll just ask them.

[See, that's not really making sense. He knows about Time Lords being able to regenerate, so he figures that's what happened to Nine.]

Oh. I see. He didn't really die. He just did that regeneration thing and changed his face.

[Jamie hadn't realized it happened here, that's all. He makes a brief, amused sounding sort of noise - not quite a full laugh, but close.]

For a moment, I thought ye meant that we could die and then come back, but that'd be a daft notion.

Uh...no, actually, that is what I meant. The Doctors don't even change here. Anybody who dies just... [splays out a hand] Poof! They're back. Believe it or not. [smiles sheepishly]

[He'll just be staring again now.] So what ye are saying is that ye die and then ye just wake up like nothing happened?

Yeah, that seems to be about how it works. [frowns] But I wouldn't try it to find out.

[There's a bit of a look sent Oliver's way. He doesn't really want to test that particular theory anytime ever, really.] Aye, I agree. I'll try not to get myself killed, then.

[quietly] Did ye...see what happened to him?

I... [his voice catches] Yeah, but... [struggles for the words] I didn't see them bring him back. Just, he showed back up and said it was the Twins--you probably saw them in that shop.

[still quietly] Aye, I did.

[A few times, he's wondered if he hasn't just seen something similar happen, and he's always been glad to be wrong. To not be...he doesn't want to think about it. But he can emphasize with what Oliver must surely be feeling, and Jamie gives him a sympathetic look before deliberately changing the subject.]

That wee paper mentioned them as well, aye?

[is grateful for the change of subject, switching back to casual conversation as though he hasn't just been thinking of unpleasant memories. raises an eyebrow at the question] The--oh! The brochure, yeah. There's a lot of good info in there; you should hold onto it. But basically, the Twins and Meredith run things in this place--including the experiments. Has anybody told you about them yet?

Aye. [A wee bit shifty-eyed here - he really does need to go back and find where he threw that brochure away, doesn't he?]

Er...experiments? No, I've not heard about those yet.

[And even without knowing about it, he's getting the feeling he's not going to care for them much.]

What do ye mean, exactly?

[Oliver would recommend he find it, if he realised he'd thrown it away]

Well, basically the people who run this place make things happen to us--sometimes to everybody, and sometimes just to certain people. They're are all sorts of different things. Like, getting trapped in places, or I've seen people turned into kids for a while. And I couldn't talk for three weeks once! It was awful.

But...sometimes they're really serious. Like, they change how people feel or think. They're always temporary, so that's good at least, but just...be careful.

Oh, that's just great. [See this face? This is Jamie's 'not happy' face. Sometimes he really hates when his feelings are right.]

Why does anyone stick around, then? I mean, I'd not care for being turned into a wee bairn. Or not being able to talk.

[For what it's worth, Oliver, you have his sympathies on that as well. Awful doesn't even really begin to describe it.]

Well, I guess that's the thing about the Plane. We can go home, but if there's an experiment going on, it goes with you. And I've never tried to stay away for long, but I've heard that, even if you do, you get drawn back here.

[quickly, full of optimism] But you know, some of us come here to see everybody! Home's got nothing on that.

So ye don't have much of a choice, it seems. [He's still not thrilled about the idea of experiments, and really not thrilled about getting drawn back if you try to stay away. However, it sounds as though once you're here, you're more or less stuck with it, and he sighs.]

Aye, well, I suppose that's something. And...I guess ye have things ye can do here, too. Like that ballroom thing.

Oh yeah, there's plenty to do! There's a bar with just about anything you could want. A kitchen that restocks itself. A theatre, a Coliseum, a beach, a forest, a library...

[Jamie's heard some of that list before, from Nine - hence the mention of the ballroom. Doesn't mean he's still not curious.]

How did they all get here, anyway?

Wish I knew! Most everything I've seen was here when I got here. But! We can bring things to the Plane, so I think at least some of it came from the people here. Like that kiosk with the brochures--Irving brought that. [meaning Braxiatel, of course, but Oliver has a tendency to stick to first names]

[Jamie hasn't actually met Braxiatel at this point, so the name doesn't really mean anything - other than it being someone Oliver knows. The idea of bringing things is an interesting one, though.]

Ye can bring things? Like if ye just grab on to them before ye come here they come with ye?

[Sorry, Oliver, Jamie does tend to ask a lot of questions.]

[that's okay; Oliver loves feeling helpful!]

Yeah, just like that!

Only, I'm not sure how people bring buildings. There's probably something more to that, but I haven't tried it yet.

Hmm. [He'd like to test that theory, and holds up a finger.] I'll be right back, aye?

[With a *pop*, he disappears from the plane and returns a few moments later, holding two apples in one hand. Jamie looks rather pleased when they do still appear to be with him.]

Hey, how about that! [He offers one out to Oliver.] Do ye like apples?

[laughs] Looks like you're an expert on the Plane already! I do like apples. Cheers! [takes it and takes a bite]
