[And once again, there is a newcomer to the Plane. This one appears to be a fairly short man with dark brown hair, who is wearing a black shirt that laces at the collar and a red kilt - one Jamie McCrimmon, by name. He stumbles for a moment, caught in mid-stride, then stops dead in his tracks.]

Hey! Where did that wee shop go?

[He glances around in bewilderment.]

Och, where am I?

[Scratching his head as he tries to figure this out, he turns and finds himself face to face with a strange building with the word 'Information' printed on a sign. He stares at it for a moment before reaching forward, taking one of the brochures, and starting to read.]

An "out-of-your-universe-experience." Not that again. A brico...what?

[This is all too confusing. He crumples up the brochure and throws it away, then sets off from the kiosk.]

Maybe if I can find the Doctor...

[Looking around, though, that seems to be an impossible task.]

Aye, well. Someone with some sense has to be around here somewhere. I'll just ask them.

[Hopefully Jamie doesn't mind a strange bloke with big ears hugging the crap out of him. Because he is!]

[He's actually rather confused by that, to be honest, and it takes a few seconds to react.]

Hey?

[And now he's trying to get the other person off of him, because he really has no clue as to what is going on here and why he's being hugged.]

[he pulls back eventually, looking rather sheepish] Er, sorry, just got excited! Been centuries since I've seen you. 'Course you wouldn't recognise me, I've changed a fair bit since then.

But it's still me, Jamie. I'm the Doctor, hello! [waves :D]

[He scowls for a moment as he smooths down the front of his shirt, and his reply might just be a wee bit sarcastic sounding.]

Oh, aye, I'll say. Do ye always go around hugging random strangers or...

[Wait, what?]

Did ye say...the Doctor?

[Have a stare of utter disbelief, Nine.]

[Turning at the sound of the voice, he can't help but be a little relieved. He's still feeling quite out of sorts and rather confused by the whole thing.]

Aye? I don't suppose ye could tell me what's going on here, then?

The brochure you just disposed of is quite thorough in it's information, but to put it simply, you are on the Astral Plane. It is a meeting point between realities.

[Don't mind Three, she just dropped in from her universe, having... well, tea. With you. And Zoe, and Jo. Catching up, as it were. (And tea for a given value of tea. Ahem.) Aaaaand she's just going to hug you now, mkay. A JAMIE HUG IS CALLED FOR. A Jamie hug is always called for.]

It's the Plane - sorry I didn't tell you about it before, but it's a little complicated and difficult to get into. But pretty, isn't it?

[beams] I did, yep! Like I said, I've changed a fair bit, and I'll take it you haven't met another me yet.

'Course, I'm a few regenerations after him, too. On my ninth life now, actually! Good thing I've got a few more than a cat. [winks]

Another...what?

[No, he hasn't met any other Doctors, so he's just continuing to stare here. And since Two has utterly failed to mention this whole regeneration concept yet, Jamie is just getting more and more baffled.]

What do ye mean, regeneration?

[bonnypiperlad]

That wee piece of paper?

[Okay, maybe he shouldn't have thrown it away after all. He presses his lips together in momentary annoyance - although it's more directed at himself than any outside source.]

Och.

[Rubbing at his forehead for a moment, he tries to remember what was in there besides that rather confusing 'b' word, and mentions of batting cages. Whatever those are.]

So all that about ye being able to think yourself home is true?

[And confusion is a go!]

H-hey!

[He's being hugged again, although at least this time it's an attractive lassie. Maybe it's some sort of greeting ritual here, like that one place the Doctor mentioned where you kiss people on the cheek? He returns the hug, rather hesitantly and a bit awkwardly. Still doesn't mean he's not confused, especially when said attractive lassie starts talking at him like she knows him.]

Um. It's not bad, I guess.

[There hasn't been too much time to form an opinion, so that's about as good as it's going to get at the moment. Besides, there's the question of who this person actually is.]

I'm sorry, miss, but I'm afraid I have no idea who ye are.

[sigh. Thanks a lot, self.] It's sort of a Time Lord trick for cheating death, Jamie. Instead of dying, we can change into a new self -- new face, new personality quirks, that sort of thing. But we're all the Doctor. Same memories.

Oh. That explains the ears, then.

[Sorry, Nine, but they are rather noticeable. At least he's not bringing up the accent?]

So my Doctor...er. Well, ye know what I mean. Which one would he be, if you're the ninth?

[He's still trying to sort all of this out. It's nicely distracted him from wondering about where he is, though.]

[fff, everyone complains about the ears] Oi, it could've been worse! It's a dodgy process, regeneration. Could've had two heads! Or no head.

[a sheepish pause] Er...he was only my second regeneration, actually.

[Two heads. That's a rather interesting mental picture, actually, but he shakes it off after a moment.]

Second? Well. Ye did say that it was a few centuries, aye?

[And given that it's the Doctor, if he's still prone into getting into the same kind of trouble that he was when Jamie was with him...wait. Jamie just was with him. Wasn't he?]

But I just saw ye not a few moments ago, before I came here. How could it have been centuries?

Oh. Oh!

[His features screw up in obvious concentration for a moment, and he blips out of existence. A moment or two passes, and then he's back, although he still looks somewhat nonplussed.]

Aye...I guess that part is true. So the rest of it...?

[He's quiet for a moment, his expression thoughtful, then he takes a deep breath.]

Aye, you're likely right. Thank ye...uh...whoever ye are.

[There's a gesture out towards the Plane - he means that in a general sense, rather than a more specific inquiry.]

[He's stopped and has his hands on his hips, frowning up at the...well, he guesses he'll call it the sky, for lack of a better term. Turning around, he nods at the questioner briefly.]

I'm wondering if that's the same sort of Doctor I know. This is the one who travels around in a blue box and pokes his nose into everything, right? Not a medical doctor to help you if you're feeling ill?
