[A strangely dressed man steps out onto the Plane, totally engrossed in a yo-yo. He's playing with it, watching it go up and down. Thankfully, he drops it. As he goes to pick it up, he starts looking around. He frowns, then shrugs and starts walking.]
Let's see ... Well, this is definitely strange. By my calculations, I should still be in the TARDIS, heading towards the 24th century. Normally, I'd just blame the randomizer but I was in the TARDIS. And that's a small problem. Just a tiny one but a problem nonetheless.
[He whips around, talking to something that's obviously not there]
K-9! Give me data on this area. When, where, those sort of things. [Pause. Well, K-9 isn't here. Whoops. That wasn't good. The Doctor pulls out a small white bag, opens it and starts munching on some jelly babies. After a while, the bag goes back into his pocket and...he starts yelling.]
Right. For anyone that can hear me or any grand celestial beings looking down on me, or Big Brother...I hope it's not Big Brother. I never really liked that book. It was too depressing and the inclusion of the book in the middle made no sense. [OH RIGHT, BACK ON TOPIC.] Right yes, anyone who's listening to me, hello! I'm the Doctor and I'd like to know the way home. I'll give you a jelly baby if you help me out-maybe even two. I'm feeling quite nice today.
...and could you please tell me where Romana is?

[uncertainly] How long has it been for you?

[keeping his tone light-hearted] So you've just been travelling around, saving the universe like usual for all that time, huh?

You said there's a...Romana...travelling with you? You know, I think I've heard that name around here. She might be on the Plane. Well, some version of her, anyway.

...besides you, I mean.

[snickers] Depends on who it is that there's two of!

[frown] I guess you're right about that.

[laughs at his expression] Think of some people you wouldn't want to meet two of, Doctor?
no subject
[thinking...] I wouldn't want to meet two of the Black Guardian. One was troublesome enough.

[it's not the best example, considering the Manicoll were in no real danger and that actually WAS just a carnival game from the outset, but Oliver didn't know that the time--though the Doctor probably did. in any case, Oliver's just enjoying that he's with a Doctor who he's sure would remember that adventure]
[makes a face] I doubt we'd want to meet two of anybody with "Black" in their name.
Or the Master. He's around here already. [yes, Doctor, he knows about the Master now! the Plane has certainly broadened his experiences. he's just glad he's only talked to his wife Lucy, so far. and he's also been lucky enough not to notice that there are, in fact, two Masters on the Plane already]

I know-I've seen him. It's strange. He's from my future, you know. It's bizarre.
