[Kate appears on the Plane with tattered clothes and no weapons, mid-roll, wrestling with a scaled, snarling creature that looks vaguely like a huge black lizard
except those usually can't spit acid
she manages to bend her legs above her and kick it in the stomach, sending it an impressive distance as she pushes herself to her feet
her shoulders are bleeding from deep scratches, her neck and face marred with light burns, but she's grinning fiercely]
So much for a pleasant welcome home.

Oh, for - [jumping to intervene now]

shortly, though she's focusing on the demon] No.

Huh. Thanks. [turns just in time to block a claw with it] Won't work on the scales, but if I can get it in the eye...

the thrust is smooth and precise, and she merely looks grimly satisfied when the sword sinks through its eye with a distinct squelching sound]
no subject
Well done! Now give me that, and I'll be back to fix you up. [gestures at the sword]

[walks forward, handing the sword over] Careful, the blood might burn.

and then looks highly sceptic] ...Pixie dust?
[and then the nanogenes work their
magicskience, and her eyes go wide as she turns her head to watch it all]Wow.

[This is why minding your own business never works.]
What can that be stopped with?

the creature is on its feet now, advancing slowly; she gives Satoshi an acknowledging glance]
Don't know the species, so I can't tell you specific weaknesses. I'm hoping breaking its neck will work.

Impact to stun it?

Thanks. [she says almost cheerfully, as she dodges the acid the demon is hacking and spitting, trying to get a grip on its neck]

[To be helpful, Satoshi breaks off one of the legs of the chair and moves around the demon, avoiding its legs to try to stab into its side. Even if it doesn't cut through, it might help wound it. (Or miss and hit a leg. Really, he's not picky.)]

one sickening crack later, the demon slumps]
no subject
What was that.
[It isn't inflected like a question. His tone is only flat.]

In my world, that means, generally, descendants of the giant monsters that used to rule the Earth.

Why was it attacking you?

Someone called for pest control?
no subject
Most exciting pest control I've ever seen.
[the demon is still standing, but it's fairly charred, screaming in rage and pain as it rushes haltingly towards Axel]
no subject
I'm just that good.
[He winks at Kate slyly as the chakrams circle around and hit the demon again in an explosive 'x' formation. He's already moving out of the way; he blinks out of vision to stand some yards behind the demon, arms outstretched, gloves pulsing with dark fire. Then he lets it go, like missiles of fiery death.]
Pew pew, baby.

she smirks at that, stepping back slightly as the fire does its wonderful work]
Won't hear any denials from me.

Think it's dead?

You okay? Healing magic isn't really my thing, but I have some potions that'll help.
