[The Doctor is not, surprisingly, brooding in the bar. In fact, he's not even brooding! He actually appears to be genuinely happy, in a "beaming away like Father Christmas" sort of way...and he's humming. A bit off-key, yes, but it's distinctly "Luck Be A Lady."

There are a few bits of TARDIS machinery piled up nearby -- the Doctor is actually taking Omega's advice, and repairing them. Of course, he's doing all this in the middle of the library, utterly oblivious to the fact that he might be disturbing someone's peace and quiet.]

((ooc: Nine has been bumped to a bit after the end of the Doctor Dances, fyi! Slow tags may be slow 'cause of work, but. :|))

He's absolutely fantastic! We got off to a bit of a rough start, but he's already improved by leaps and bounds.

Oh really? [can't help wondering how much of that "rough start" was Jack's fault] Well, that's good to hear. Any idea where you'll be going?

[flatly] He tried to con me, and nearly turned the entire human race into gas mask zombies in the process. [he shakes his head at the question] Nope, I'm gonna let him decide where we're off to next!

[stares] ...and then you took him with you?

[grins] It's amazing what a bit of psychology can do.

I'll say! But I take it he wasn't changing the human race on purpose? [not if the Doctor decided to let him come along afterwards!]

[shakes his head] 'Course not. But he wasn't taking responsibility for his actions, either, and I had a bit of a problem with that.

[smiles; he might be starting to understand now] And that's what you convinced him to do, huh?

Yep! Knew he would. [actually he didn't, but shh] Anyway, what've you been up to? Aside from that experiment you mentioned.

[shrugs] Mostly just life as usual. While the experiment was going on, I stayed on the Plane or called in ill, so I've only just got back to work. And Anna's disappointed, of course. I think she was enjoying putting words in my mouth. [makes a face]

You mean she doesn't on a normal day? [winks]

[cringes] You've got a point there.
