003; the play's the thing.
[All things considered, Jim really deserves to sit in the bar on the plane and drink until she can't remember her own name, and then wake up tomorrow wishing she was dead.
Admittedly, if she'd wanted, that could've been arranged, very easily. And maybe (in her darker moments, when she just wanted this whole mess to be over with if it couldn't stay in the goddamn past where it belonged) that would have just let the universe break away and make a clean cut from Tarsus IV. Instead, it got very messy and people made mistakes and went too far (she made mistakes and went too far) and now there's a girl in a mental ward and vengeance is served. Not justice, maybe, but that's not the dish best served cold, is it?
She has one drink only, and maybe that will become two or four later, but for now one's a good start. She raises it in a mock toast (hail ceasar) before downing half of it and resting it on the bartop.]
ooc: canon-bump ahoy, mod-approved.

But I find the occasion is rarer when pointing it out changes anything.

Oh, hello. How do you do? What are you drinking?
[he sets his bottles on the table, then pulls his teddy bear out from under the counter and dusts him off] There were are. Poor Aloysius. I hope you didn't feel too neglected. I'll give you your own glass if you like.
[Sebastian smiles at Kirk] I don't think we've met. Sebastian Flyte.

Huh.]
James Kirk.

[he pours himself one glass of each wine, and then pours a tiny little shot glass for his teddy]
no subject
[But it's not a particularly forceful correction, possibly because she's a little too distracted by the little shot-wine-glass. Does he really think the teddy bear's going to drink it?]

That toast for anything specific?

[...That gets an eyebrow raise, and a little bit of polite concern.]
Looks like your day might have been worse than mine.
no subject
Oh, it's not as bad as it seems. The doctor's keep saying the worst part is over, actually.
[She raises her own glass in a mock toast before taking a, well, pretty big sip.]
S how about a toast to the hope of improvement, then?
no subject
Sounds good to me. [She clinks her glass against Alex's and downs the rest of it.]
