003; the play's the thing.

[All things considered, Jim really deserves to sit in the bar on the plane and drink until she can't remember her own name, and then wake up tomorrow wishing she was dead.

Admittedly, if she'd wanted, that could've been arranged, very easily. And maybe (in her darker moments, when she just wanted this whole mess to be over with if it couldn't stay in the goddamn past where it belonged) that would have just let the universe break away and make a clean cut from Tarsus IV. Instead, it got very messy and people made mistakes and went too far (she made mistakes and went too far) and now there's a girl in a mental ward and vengeance is served. Not justice, maybe, but that's not the dish best served cold, is it?

She has one drink only, and maybe that will become two or four later, but for now one's a good start. She raises it in a mock toast (hail ceasar) before downing half of it and resting it on the bartop.]

ooc: canon-bump ahoy, mod-approved.

The occasion is rare when alcohol solves anything.

Force of habit.

[because these two -need to chat-. somehow. someway]

You seem upset.

[Suiseiseki just happens to be walking by when she notices you, Jim. and she makes a face because ew, alcohol]

Why are you drinking that, desu?

[identity profile] fruitbrandy.livejournal.com 2009-12-11 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
[Sebastian Flyte is holding not one but TWO bottles of wine. One is Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey and the other is Château Margaux]

Oh, hello. How do you do? What are you drinking?

[he sets his bottles on the table, then pulls his teddy bear out from under the counter and dusts him off] There were are. Poor Aloysius. I hope you didn't feel too neglected. I'll give you your own glass if you like.

[Sebastian smiles at Kirk] I don't think we've met. Sebastian Flyte.

[He smirks, and moves behind the bar.]

And what, pray tell are you trying to solve?

[Eh, he's blunt like that]

Fair enough.

Company at home is somewhat scarce at the moment.

There's far worse to be had.

Everyone here has such very unusual names. I think that by the end of a month here, I shall find myself completely disoriented by the normality of names at Oxford. It's a pleasure, Miss Kirk.

[he pours himself one glass of each wine, and then pours a tiny little shot glass for his teddy]

[identity profile] fruitbrandy.livejournal.com 2009-12-11 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
Are you really? I didn't know a lady could hold that rank. It's completely charming.

[He doesn't particularly notice her distraction, as he is enjoying his Margaux]

I must bring this back to Charles. He'll never have tasted it before, poor dear. I don't know how I'll disguise the vintage, though... Do you have any suggestions, Captain?

[he absently pats his bear on the head]

[He roots around the drink selection - despite this being a bar, there's usually something non-alcoholic. His movements are still a bit clumsier than they ought to be, but he does emerge victorious with a bottle of Ginger beer.]

My, I'ven't had this since I was a child.

I'll probably just get drunk. Charles is an agnostic, you know. It makes me very worried about how he'll react to reaching the Astral Plane.
