[How long has it been since this guy's been on the Plane? Over a month! But he's been busy dealing with a couple of partial mergers, thanks to Dorothy and Omega. The first is cause for celebration (for the most part, anyway; there's still that nagging doubt that it won't last) and the second is driving him rather batty, for multiple reasons. On top of that, he's been feeling a bit disoriented lately, and he's not really sure why...so he's currently trying to solve all his problems at the Time Lord Hangout Spot - i.e., the bar. He's idly playing with his Tarot card in one hand, and holding a large banana daiquiri in the other.]

[thinks of his own card he has stored in his trouser pocket.] Funny how a simple Earth thing such as this can cause so much trouble.

I had my doubts there as well, Doctor, but it turns out that all I had to do was meet him at a certain place and time and we could set off. His TARDIS, however, wasn't visible to me until the moment I stepped inside.

Oh, and there was something else. Just as the TARDIS was invisible to me, so was your tenth self from everybody else. I might as well have been talking to myself as far as they were concerned.

I've got the feeling it's not all it seems to be.

[nods] Ah. Bit different from my mergers with Omega and Dorothy, then. [and you're the first person he's mentioned that to, congrats, Straxus]

[mutters] Perhaps not.

[have an arch of his eyebrow] With Omega and Dorothy? [and follow that up with an amused smirk] No wonder you're here.

[smiles wryly, and pours himself another drink] You've got no idea. I've been in his universe, Straxus. I've felt them. [and there goes that drink, all at once.]

I certainly do have an idea. They're in my universe as well, in case you've forgotten. [frowns as he watches the Doctor down that drink] But I do see your point.

[he's rather unstable right now, really, and the disorientation on top of it isn't helping, but he's trying not to show it. so have a forced grin, Straxus]

Least I can pop into Ertikus' garden whenever I want. Can't go any further than that, but it's nice to just...and I've got Dorothy. Sort of. Can't actually take her anywhere, but she still gets to see the TARDIS. [and you know, he's terrified that she'll change her mind and reject him like Rose did]

[doesn't return the grin] That doesn't sound fair at all though, Doctor. Mere hints of what your universe used to be like before the War and a helper who can't accompany you in your travels...it all sounds terribly cruel to me.

[which is exactly why he's trying so hard to get himself drunk] I've had worse days. 'Sides, it's nothing I don't deserve. [distraction tactic go!] Enough about me, though, tell me about this trail thing.

[pours himself a drink of fruit brandy] Things will change and perhaps those mergers will--[gestures vaguely; he isn't very knowledgeable on this subject he feels]--broaden or change. Perhaps you will be able to travel with Dorothy. I'm sure she's got plenty of trees she could teach you to climb or whatever it is that she does. As for Lord Omega...well, hopefully you won't do anything else to anger him.

The trial is...a nuisance, and I'm not keen on returning any time soon just so I can be blamed for something I had no control over. I will not be their scapegoat. [sounds very bitter when he says that]

Of course. [a small smile]

I think for now, you should focus on yourself. You don't seem right. [not that he is either--being in the Zero Room has done little to make him feel any less, well, like he was before he met the Tenth Doctor--but his problems are easily concealed if he so wishes.]

[frowns] Think I'd rather worry about you, thanks. [because dealing with other people's problems is easier than facing his own]

We could compromise! I'll worry about your problems, and you mine.

[that gets a smile] Sounds fair enough to me. [he glances at that brandy of yours] You want me to make you a daiquiri instead?

I certainly won't say no, but I'll hold on to this for later. [has a sip then pushes his glass aside]

[chuckles, starting to make him a strawberry daiquiri. his movements are a little hindered by the fact that the amount of alcohol he's had has finally started to sink in, but that's not why he drops the glass--he's looking disoriented again]

[quickly moves to help him, a concerned look on his face] Perhaps you should worry about your problems just a bit. And maybe we should hold off on the daiquiris.

[leans against Straxus slightly, shaking his head again] Dunno what I can do about it. It's just...almost like I'm seeing a fixed point in the timestream every once in awhile, and I can't control it. But they're not points that ought to be...fixed.

...Fixed points that aren't supposed to be fixed? [makes a face while he leads him back to his seat]

[shrugs, taking another long sip of his drink when he's steady again] Not sure how else to explain it. It's driving me a bit mad, though.

How about you give me an example, Doctor. What do you see?
