Oh, I dunno. Something about you. A memory you like.

Uhm... [oh, you asked for it, Doctor. Reminsce~] There was this one time... Annie, Annie Cartwright, the WPC - did you see her in my mind? - she was, uhm, handling a case on her own. And all the men were goading her, saying she couldn't do it. It looked like a pretty light case - that's why the Guv let her have it - but she just turned up her nose against them. It's incredible, watching her with their jabs. I don't know how she does it. She handles the sexism brilliantly. Anyway, she had this case on her own, a very 'cat up a tree' sort of case, small-time theft, and while she's working on it, we find ourselves loaded with a heavy double-homocide blag. It was a real mess of a case, that one, and we were all running around trying to find leads and getting ourselves tangled up in knots. Poor Chris died under the paperwork. And there was Annie, in that suit of hers, sitting at her desk calmly and going over case notes. Suddenly, she stands up, walks out - I asked her where she was going, but she just smiled secretively - and when she walked back in she had this big, burly bloke by the arm. She told Phyllis to put him in the cells, then went to the Guv and said she had a confession for the double-homocide. The cases were connected, and Annie did it all on her own. She'll be DS at this rate, I swear.

[he's grinning just a bit] Yeah, I saw her. She seems like the type capable of that. I imagine their faces were something to see.

It was absolutely brillian.

Even if she never gets the proper title, sounds like she gets her fair share anyway.

They're learning to respect her.

Ah, those things always have to pass. People like her break it down though.

[laughs] I've had a few companions like that. They were always showing that male or female, it's the individual.

I wouldn't think you'd have to learn about the equality of the sexes, being an advanced, intelligent alien race and all.

Hm? I meant more, well...we time travel and go all over the place and there's plenty of people who scoff at those things still.

Prejudice is, I'd imagine, universal.
