It's more an issue of compatability. The cloth must accept the bearer.

Each cloth represents a different constellation. Not much is really known about the cloths because they were made so long ago. But they are alive in a sense...you could even say they have a certain personality to each of them.

No but the bearer must be compatible with the cloth. Only someone born under Aries would be able to bear the Aries cloth, if you wanted an example though it's only the most basic of the requirements.
