[Sniffling and fighting back tears.]

I don't know if you're clumsy - though if you are and you drop Aloysius, please apologize to him, as he can hold grudges but is very forgiving of the contrite - but you aren't ill-mannered. I wouldn't let you hold Aloysius if I didn't like you. He picks up bad habits so easily! You might feel better if you say everything that happened out loud. Only, I hate to, so I wouldn't blame you if you'd rather not.

[She lets go of the bear and sits in silence with her face pointed up towards the "sky" of the Plane for a few moments.]

[Sebastian pulls out the (purple) carnation from his buttonhole, and also takes out his silk handkerchief. He holds both out to Kururu]

[She looks at Sebastian and does her best to stop the tears from falling as she takes a hold of both. Kururu looks at the flower tenderly, she hasn't seen one of this color before.]

[suddenly getting to his feet] You must have an Eton mess. Have you ever had one? They're delicious. They are the clouds of heaven wrapped around the sweet sharpness of strawberries. You'll like it.

I'd eat them at every hour, but I think I'd get sick of them, and I'd hate to get sick of them. Do you want the one in my left hand or the one in my right?

[Kururu is in a slight daze at Sebastian's actions. Who did what and why? She stares at dessert; it does look rather delicious.]

E, either or is fine? I don't think I've ever had an "Eton mess" before. Which do you think I might prefer? It certainly does look delicious.

Well, you wouldn't have, would you? It isn't as if you're an Etonian, old or otherwise, and I doubt it has gone as far as Japan. As I am feeling particularly generous today and you seem to be a lady in need, I shall have to give you the one with more meringue. I hope you like meringue.

[he sits down across from her, setting the one from his left hand in front of her]

And Aloysius, I hope you took care of Sumeragi while I was gone? [he pats his bear on the head] Perhaps I shall find it suiting to give you further duties of significance in the future, old bear. It will do you well to have your own responsibilities.

[she takes the dessert and closely examines it. It definitely looks like nothing she's ever seen before.]

Thank you, Sebastian-san. I just happen to like meringue very much. And I can't help but feel like you're rather... well traveled or, well, you've been to far more places than most.

[carefully picking out one of the strawberries from the cup and nibbles on it]

A, ah yes... I did. He was well behaved. Perhaps you should, it might be interesting to see what he can do on his own.

Oh, not particularly. It's Venice for Papa, Paris, sometimes, and I've always wanted to go to North Africa, but mummy likes to keep us all at least at home in England.

[he eats his mess with pleasure]

I can't believe I forgot about this! It's such a delight. The meringue isn't officially part of the recipe, but it's an addition I can't do without. [pulling Aloysius into his lap] You're very kind to him. I think a rather high number of people aren't half so accepting of him.

Wow England! I've always wanted to go there. I hear the architecture there is certainly something else. O, or well... everywhere in Europe. For structures from old and new to stand next to one another.

[using a strawberry as a spoon to scoop out some of the meringue.]

It certainly is. I can see why you like it so much. A, and it's nothing. Really. Thank you for allowing me to be with him.

Isn't it like that in Japan? You'll have to ask Charles about it - he's rather more interested in architecture than I am - but I do think it's all rather pretty. Oxford certainly is. Its nickname is very apt.

W, well... that's true. Japan is like that too but I've never seen castles like the ones in Europle before! Things are so ordinary if you see them all the time, right?

They can be, if you let them, and I suppose that to many they are. Certainly I'd love to see Japan and enjoy its beauty. But just look around us at all of this. It's completely stunning, isn't it? And yet so many just use it as a place to walk.

It's concerning. I can't imagine ever not loving something I once found beautiful.
