[Sitting on the plane is what appears to be a very large animal, something similar to a wolf, but not quite - after all, wolves don't have golden fur in the shape of an ankh (and on the chest, for those wondering), nor do they have large Anubis-like ears. That's just silly. Its fur, other than the gold, is mostly brown, black on the back, with white ears, and a grime-y sort of green belly. A single silver triangle is under each eye.

Spread out in front of it are 78 face down cards, and next to it is a sign that simply reads 'CHOOSE A CARD'.]

Well, I was passing through originally, but I've sort of taken up residence, so to speak. I get a good bed, I get scratched behind the ears, and I don't get stuck out in the rain. I might move on eventually, but I'm happy where I am.

So indeed! It's good to be happy with the fortune you've come upon. But a ten of swords! I know little of the meaning, but the sword feels most fitting.

I think the real question is are all the swords yours, or are you having a big fight with ten guys who have swords, while you're stuck with your fist? Or maybe nine guys, and you've got a sword too. Or five and five. Really, it could be anything, but I don't think you could fight with more than two swords just on your own.

[DEEP CONTEMPLATION.]

What if I were to have my immortal army with me? Then ten swords would not be enough! And I already have my own, faithful sword, so I have no use for ten more anyways. I should prefer to fight!

Are your enemies immortal? Because if not, you are so totally cheating with your immortal army.

Though if it was an actual immortal army, you wouldn't even NEED swords. You'd never die! You could destroy your enemies with your fists alone, and they'd be all annoyed over getting whooped by some guys who insist on fist fighting.

It's a figure of speech, more than anything! They are soldiers loyal enough to follow me beyond the grave, so they "live" as I do, not much more than a ghost. But Servants lay in the realm between a ghost and a God, so it's hardly poor standing!

... That beyond the grave thing only made me think of you coming back as a ghost or a zombie and then having a ghost and/or zombie army.

Close! We've all been dead for about 2,500 years!

Ha, never! I'm still human in heart and head, so I couldn't consider it!

Good, because I need my brain. For things. And stuff. I expect I wouldn't be able to function well without it.

I doubt few would! But I promise you that I am neither a zombie nor a true ghost.

Yeah, I don't think I could smell you if you were a ghost, and if you were a zombie, you'd probably smell horrible. And not good horrible, either.

I'm vaguely canine-like in origin. You've seen dogs roll around in dead, rotted carcasses before. That's a good horrible.

True, true! Though if you are vaguely canine-like, what is a more appropriate name for what you are?
