Tales of the Floating World

[A fifteen-year-old boy appears on the Plane, adjusts his glasses, and utters the eloquent and verbose:]

Hm.

[He is clearly not too disturbed]

[Then, he goes completely still, as if suddenly noticing something. It's a long moment before he regains his composure]

[When he does, he starts walking to the ballroom, naturally attracted to the closest thing to art on the Plane]

[Well that is just sad. But he accepts what is offered. He glances over the paper.]

Shouldn't be too difficult. Actually, could you hang on a tick? I'll be right back.

[And without waiting, he does indeed go off with he painting and instructions, figuring he should do this before he forgets.]

[When the Doctor returns, he strolls up with his hands in his pockets, seeming pleased.] Found a nice spot for it. The room itself is actually quite large. I should be able to use it as a gallery, I think. Always did need one of those. Thank you for your expertise.

[He raises his eyebrows slightly.]

Just as I said, it was a gift. They got into a bit of trouble and I happened to be passing through and we had a good time of things, so they gave me that.

[He's older than you, okay.]

Tawaraya Sotatsu and Hon'ami Koetsu.

Well, I usually don't. Unless I really, really have to but I like wearing these sorts of clothes.

[This lineface is already easier to talk to! The Doctor stays fairly casual, however.]

I'm a time traveller. Well, time and space. Anywhere and everywhere.

My ship, the TARDIS. You might actually meet her around here. It stands for Time And Relative Dimensions in Space. Very useful, obviously, for getting around. Usually we just sort of wander through.

Well, there are a few of us. And technically, a few of us are the same person but we do know quite a few of the people here.

[identity profile] salvagestime.livejournal.com 2009-08-12 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
Right, well. I'm not human. I know, I look it, but it's the other way around, really. You lot look like us. No one ever thinks of that, do they? Anyway, we're called Time Lords. Exactly what it says on the tin. But the part that you should know about, at least for this place, is that we can regenerate. Change every single cell in our bodies. A little way to cheat death. Naturally, going through something like that messes with appearance a bit, so you might run into a few different looking but still handsome fellows calling themselves 'the Doctor' who are also me. [a pause.] Oh and one who is another me but different universe. [another pause.] Oh yes and a human version of me. [and yet another pause.] And Arthur. - Anyway. We're all a bit different but we're all the same.

Oh, quite different, excluding the last three examples I gave, though personally I think there's enough difference even there.

[identity profile] salvagestime.livejournal.com 2009-08-12 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
So! By reason of deduction, you know what I'm called now. Who are you, then?

Hiwatari, then? Unless you're prefer a certain honorific.

Then, if you'll humour me, have you always been that good with art? Usually I bring up 'art' and I get 'Mona Lisa' at best.
