[Peri Brown appears on the Plane, stumbling like she just stopped running. she looks much like any of the Doctors who knew her might remember, with one exception. her brown hair is cut in the same short bob and she is wearing impractical wedge shoes as always, but there is a glaring lack of spandex leotards. instead she's wearing khaki shorts and white-and-blue-striped boatnecked tank top. well-endowed chest is still there, however.]

Woah ... what happened here? Where am I? D-Doctor? ... A-Anyone?

[she turns in a few circles, looking around her with increasing concern]

Can anyone hear me?

[to herself] I thought that store was weird ... the Doctor said I could go shopping and that place just seemed to pull me in--and I didn't even recognize the name of the store. And those twins. Creepy ...

[louder] Doctor?! This isn't funny!

[slumps down miserably on the nearest rock] ... I have a headache.

Kind of like the Eye of Orion? [she remembers the Doctor she's currently with mentioning it, once] Except this place doesn't look very peaceful to me. [shivers]

[she's quiet for awhile, hugging herself and staring out into the blackness, before she asks quietly] Have you ever been to Androzani Minor?

On a cosmic scale, yes, a bit. [earnestly] It is a tranquil place, for the most part.

[he simply waits, during his silence, patient and still; when she speaks his eyes widen, and he nods] Some time ago, yes. There was a nasty war on, then, involving it and its twin - took quite a lot of effort to get it all sorted out.

[looks askance at him when he speaks, then nods and stares at her feet] I went there with you; you said it was supposed to be nice. I d-don't know if it was an actual war going on, but--well, it definitely wasn't good.

[slow shake of his head] I ought to have known better.

A tour would be nice, as long as it doesn't involve too much walking. [rueful look at her wedge-clad feet] I didn't exactly wear my walking shoes today.

[shakes her head empahtically] There's no way you could've known. You said all that trouble was at least a hundred years in the past. I don't even think it was supposed to be inhabited--we were just going to look at the sand formations.

[resumes staring at her feet--this has to be one of the most awkward conversations of her life]

[soft smile] We needn't do it right away - or even today.

[the smile widens, then] Quick to defend. Thank you. I suppose the coordinates were off again, then. It...seems to happen in other universes more often.

[amiable shrug] Whenever you want, Doctor, is fine with me.

[can't help but bask in his smile even as she feels her heart constrict a little] There's nothing to defend--you just did what you thought was right. I just wish ... [and here she wrings her hands a bit, then drops them into her lap with a faked bright sigh] Well, I just wish I hadn't been so clumsy.

[scuffs a toe in the dirt]

[he simply gazes at her for a moment, before slowly shaking his head] Whatever happened, Peri, I'm quite confident I'd never blame you.

[her mouth had been open to reply what she had been dreading--you died--but she shuts her jaw with a click and pastes on a happy face at Ten's arrival, shutting Five completely out for the moment]

Took you long enough! [but she is smiling a little, yes] I'm curious ... do you remember how I take mine?

[he affects a hurt expression, only for an instant, before he smiles at himself as well, voice strained but playful]

I haven't hurt myself, thank you very much. [hands one to him as well] Besides, the one over there has a lot of interesting buttons, is all!

One over there what? Is there an electric tea kettle over there somewhere I can't see?
