[A little bit after he talks to Mu and Shion on the Plane, Takeru comes back to the Plane, bringing with him some scenery - part of a dark beach. He walks along it, and stares into the water, before sitting down and looking at the sand. His mouth is moving, but there's no sound coming out.]

[[ooc; Mkay. Anyone with psychic abilities sufficient enough to pick up on emotions, feel free to catch a wave of conflicting emotions from him. Anyone with enough power to get into someone's head fairly easily... yeah, Kaiser!Takeru and regular!Takeru are having a sort of a mental argument.]]

[his eyes widen; after a moment, he places a gentle hand on Takeru's shoulder - and then, heavily] It is always more difficult, if you aren't used to it.

[He shifts a little at the contact, but it's a bit comforting.]

I came here more after my former friends turned on me. They didn't understand what had to be done. I think... they were being controlled. And I couldn't... I couldn't save them either. So I had to... let them be killed.

[His mouth twitched a little, almost amused at a sudden thought.]

Their data is probably still there, in that world. I can't find it, though. If I could, I might be able to bring them back. But... right now I guess I'm stuck just seeing codewalkers.

[there is no judgement in his expression, though his lips part in surprise; no, just a deep, understanding sadness] That's a terrible choice to make.

[He sighs, and rests his head against his knees. His shoulders shake as he starts to cry.]

I never... wanted to lose any of them. But to just stand by and let things happen... I couldn't... I couldn't do that. I lost my partner Digimon, I lost my friends, I lost my crest. But if I can do what needs to be done to make that world safe, then I don't care.

[kneels down beside him, tentatively slipping an arm round his shoulders; very softly] I know how that feels.

[He freezes, and looks up at The Doctor.] You... do?

[slow nod] I've been trying to make my universe a better place for a long time. Sacrifice...is a large part of it.

... [He doesn't have any real comforting words for that, so he just puts his hand on the Doctor's arm and pats it.]

[faint, grateful smile] It becomes easier, with time.

... I keep telling myself that. But it's only been about a year and a half for me.

[quiet, sad chuckle] It will certainly take longer than that.

I've found that it helps...not to dwell. To focus on your ultimate goal.

[He sighs and closes his eyes, and recites as if from memory, listing his priorities off on his fingers.]

First priority, find and eliminate Black MetalGarurumon, because he's the biggest current threat that comes from inside the Digital World itself.

Second priority, try to bring the guerrilla attacks against my troops and facilities under control.

Third priority, monitor Virus types to make sure they don't become too large of a threat.

Which leads into my fourth priority of expanding the area I can monitor in order to do the first three things.

[He lets his hand drop and opens his eyes.]

[the smile had returned, lighter now, admiring] You have them in fine order, I think.

[He rubs the back of his neck, sighing.]

[the smile fades as he nods, grimly thoughtful] You'll need to stay alert, of course - and your troops, as well. Is he aware you're hunting him?

Yeah, he is. And I've almost captured him before, too. But he's usually in his Ultimate form and I'd need another Ultimate-level or a Mega-level Digimon to take him down.

... And the only way to do that is to either find one that Digivolved naturally or use a crest to help one Digivolve... and I don't have any crests that are accessible to me right now.

[slow nod; he ponders, for a moment] There are no weapons from the human world that would be effective?

Not really. I'm not sure how I could get my hands on them in any case unless I stole them. Which... somehow doesn't seem right to me.

[faint, wry smile] I'd think of it as borrowing, myself - though I've more opportunities to do so. [a glove hand absently taps his knee] Too much interference on my part may not be best, but...

[He sighs.] I appreciate it, but I'm not sure how it'd translate into the Digital World.

[Takeru smiles, though.] Besides, I think I'm almost there. As long as I can finish a few more projects, and they're not destroyed, I should have something that will work well enough.

[he returns the smile, nodding] Good. ...Though if you'd like any assistance, I'm an experienced tinkerer.

[chuckles, shaking his head] I've pronounced far longer, Takeru. I'm the called Doctor.
