[nursing a black eye and sniffling, muttering under her breath before trying to pretend her eye isn't bothering her]

Sam? Anyone around? N-not that it's really important. Just... [trails off and shakes her head before wandering around searching]

Huh? Oh, well...do you have any ice?

I do. [disappears and reappears with some, though she frowns] If you prefer, I do have a medical bay with medicines that could help more than simple ice.

[takes it and presses it to her eye, wincing] Medical bays? Are you a nurse?

A nurse? Hardly. I am the TARDIS, girl. But I have all the medical supplies you can imagine. I'm sure I have something that can take down the swelling in that eye.

Well...all right, if you don't mind. [thinks] TARDIS? Ah! I've heard that before. I didn't know you were a person though, ma'am. It's nice to meet you.

I don't. [blinks] I am not a person, child. I am the TARDIS. This is simply a physical projection of my consciousness. I find it is easier for humans to talk with me in this form. [disappears again, reappearing with a med kit] Here we are. Come closer, girl.

[moves closer and tips her head up for the TARDIS] Oh! I understand that. We have something like that in my world. Rumours of it, anyway, so they probably aren't like you but I understand.

[quirks a brow, but begins applying some solvents and a thin pad of gauze to Fumie's eye] How do you mean? What else is like me?

[holds still for her] Ah, well. It's not like that exactly but... [tries to think how to explain it] Supposedly there's a way to use glasses technology to project your consciousness and separate it from your body.

Is that so? [finishes what she was doing] Hold that about two minutes. How does a human separate their consciousness? That should not be possible, not with your biology. Are you sure it isn't just a wives' tale?

[presses it like she said] Thank you, ma'am. And I don't know. It's probably just a rumour. I've never been able to do it and I don't think even Isako can.

Isako?

Ah, Isako is an Encoder. She can manipulate digital information with her body.

I am unfamiliar with that term. That ability, however...that should not be possible in humans.

[nods] It's through these. [takes her glasses out of her pocket and hands them off] I'm lucky they didn't break.

Fascinating. [takes them in hand, scanning the glasses thoroughly before handing them back] Such technology... and you can fuse with these?

I don't know if I can. Isako is the only person I know who can do things like that. I'm just good at hacking with them.

Still...that is quite commendable. I've only ever known one as young as yourself who was so good with computers. He was one of my favourites, in a long line of companions for my Doctor. [tilts her head] Would you like to see what he saw?

[gives her a curious look] Yes, ma'am.

[smiles faintly, then disappears, only to reappear as her true self, materialising around Fumie so the girl is standing in her control chamber, the center console humming quietly in welcome]

[and so surprised she doesn't even yell. her mouth hangs open and she spins around, walking slowly to the console and touching it nervously] H-Hello? TARDIS, ma'am? Are you still...here?

[hums happily, letting her consciousness touch Fumie's briefly to assure her that, yes, she is still there, and that Fumie is welcome to explore]

[still wide-eyed but smiling now and starts walking around slowly, trailing her hands along just about anything she can touch] You're very pretty! And so big! You must be a giant ship! [looks over the console] So many buttons...it seems like it'd be hard to pilot. I don't recognize anything.

[beeps quietly in thanks for the compliment, the Time Rotor humming and moving languidly as she turns her systems on so Fumie can get a better feel of what it's like in a living TARDIS. gently tries to guide her around, feeding her images of the Doctor manically trying to pilot her alone]

[pauses for a moment when the systems turn on. there's a definite difference in the air. someone as in tune with technology as Fumie is can easily feel it. it's levels above what she feels with the glasses, which is saying something since that basically is her world] Ahh, I see, it really is hard to pilot. [laughs and tries to imitate the Doctor's motions that play through her head, not actually hitting the controls, just trying to see if she could do it] That's your Doctor, then, ne? He looks different than the other ones! He's so curly.
