[On the Plane is the interior of a bridal shop.

At one end of the shop, in the maternity section, is Ianto. He's currently preoccupied with looking in the mirror in front of him, holding one of the maternity dresses against himself like so.

Slightly more to the norm is the irritated expression on his face. The salesman at this particular shop can be blamed for that.

Really. What's the world coming to when you can't buy a wedding dress for a friend without people making stupid assumptions?

Apparently deciding that this dress isn't to his Gwen's liking, he hangs it back on the rack. It only takes him a moment to pick out another one, and then it's back to holding the dress up to himself in front of the mirror.]

I guess not. They're all so pretty, though. I hope that I could wear one someday.

[SIGH. Diva, do you have no shame? Ianto turns away again, selecting another one.]

You know, technically, you could wear one whenever you wanted. You just did, I believe.

You know what I mean. It's not the same to just wear one. If it were actually me getting married, that would be different.

I know. You just never struck me as the marrying kind.

{She starts to put it on}

I'd love to be married, but I've never found someone that I would. The people that I love, they don't want to be tied to me, and the people that love me, I don't want to be tied to them. I would love, more than anything, to have a family, to be a wife, simple things like that, but there are too many things that make that impossible. So I get to settle for trying on these dresses, I guess.

[He turns, looking her up and down.] Better than the last one, at least. What do you think of it?

Well, it's just that I don't want to disappoint myself. I mean, even my Chevalier never wanted to go that far.

{She's blushing a little bit with how happy just wearing it is making her, actually, but she twirls as she looks at herself in the mirror}

Marriage isn't for everyone. Just because your Chevalier didn't want to, that doesn't mean no one you love ever will.

[He nods, smiling slightly.] It is. Reckon Gwen'll think so too.

{She laughs a little} And you think Sam would? I don't know about that.

It'll be beautiful on her, I'm sure. Tell her that someone you know wishes her the best.

{Diva changes back to normal, and the dress loosens around her. She takes it off with the delicacy of it being a precious treasure.}
