[It's a Doctor. He's working on a new project, this one hopefully not destroying the world like the last project was invariably about to do. But! He's got bits of machinery which looks like it used to be a few coffee makers and two television sets, all around his feet while he soders wires together and twists bits of machine onto other pieces]

Ancient Greece? So you know it's ancient, then? Usually when you're from there, it's more just plain old Greece, you know? I love Greece, by the way. Had a lovely companion from there, too.

Well, it was apparently ancient by modern standards, it seemed fairly recent to me when I was living there.

No, no. She died some number of years ago. Quite a few years ago. ['passed away' is really too polite for her death, sadly enough]
