004 [Something with a Bit of Style]

[Susan has returned to the Plane after what may or may not have been a fairly long absence. Time is like that, especially when you're traveling through it rather erratically.

With her is a large wardrobe, the contents of which belongs to her roommate, friend and constant source of confusion, Zoe Heriot. She lifts out one outfit, frowns slightly, then returns it to the wardrobe. She doesn't quite dare to examine the contents on the TARDIS, in case Zoe herself - or, even worse, Jamie catches her - but it's probably safe on the Plane.

Probably.

The second outfit she removes is apparently equally unappealing, and, when she finally speaks, she is holding a third sartorial masterpiece.]

I don't think I'll ever understand 21st century fashion.

Ah yes. I do remember that one. I never did understand the point in one as intelligent as she wearing something so terribly impractical.

They aren't? [Susan has always considered Zoe fairly fashionable. Then again, she also felt the same way about Barbara and Ian, purely because she admired them.] Oh...

Well, being curious is hardly a bad thing, I suppose I should pay more attention really... Especially if Kirilli wants to take me to parties [her nose wrinkles slightly at the thought]

What sort of parties? You should have a dress for things like that. Or a skirt. That's what the girls at school used to wear to go out.

I wouldn't say terrible, I suppose it's fine for her. Still, I think I quite like the way you dress now. Don't see any need for you to start walking around looking like someone else.

Hello! I'm just looking through my roommate's wardrobe. I'm not sure about the clothing, though...

Oh ... well, a century is just a measurement of time. Quite a long one. Fashion is what people like to wear.

Yes, they do. These are girl's clothes. [Although 'pretty' isn't the first word that comes to mind when you look at these outfits.]

I try my best. I don't know if I can answer anything though. That's the sort of thing my grandfather likes to do.

They do wear clothes. But you can have different types of clothes, and those different types are different fashions.
