[this is Lucy. this is Lucy sitting quietly off to some random side of the Plane, resting in a wide, comfy chair, legs tucked beneath her and reading a book. what book? a random one she snatched from the TARDIS library that gives some (very) truncated history on Gallifrey. why? because her husband has currently gone a mite bonkers and thinks himself someone else. it really, really sucks. so she's doing some reading and hoping to find some answers.

Oh, goodness no. Not in any way that mattered, at least.

Well, how about the ones that didn't matter, then?

They were mostly forgettable, but I had a few suitors in my day. My father was a very important man, you see. They figured they could get to him through me. It was fun stringing them along, at least for a time, but they didn't offer me anything particularly useful and I grew bored of the attention.

{She giggles}

I certainly know what that is like, then! Ne, but is Harry your first love, then?

I hadn't really thought of it that way but yes, I suppose he is.

Mm, that must be eve nicer, then! Sam certainly isn't my first.

No, but he seems the most important. That must count for something.

Sam is wonderful. I love him more than anyone else in the world. But...I loved Josef and Amshel as much at one point too. So it's not that new, I guess.

Mmm. I can't imagine having to feel that over and over again. Isn't it painful, loving more than one man?

{She looks at Lucy sadly}

It's only sad because Josef never loved me to begin with. He lied to me and made me fall in love with him. Amshel...I miss him. I do. But I'm happier without him, as bad as that sounds. I'm happier being with Sam and...Well, being able to do and think what I want.

I think I'd much rather love someone and not have them return it than have to worry about them loving me in return. [squeezes Diva's hand] I'm glad you're happy though, dear. I'd so hate to see you upset.

It's painful, but I don't mind it! Not anymore, at least. It's all in the past, after all.

Of course it is, dear. Things like that are best left to just memories, wouldn't you agree?

Well, that's good. I do so hate upsetting those dear to me.

And I as well! Ne, but on some happier things, how have you been lately? I mean, before Harry...ah...changed, a little.

I've been doing well. Settling back in, I suppose.

Routine. Life was a bit ... hectic for a while.

Well, that's wonderful, then! You mentioned that you were having some troubles, but I don't think you said why.

Just some disagreements with the Doctor, that's all. We've never really gotten along, him and I.

I can't say that I'm too surprised by that, honestly!

[laughs] No, I suppose it isn't that surprising, is it?
