[this is Lucy. this is Lucy sitting quietly off to some random side of the Plane, resting in a wide, comfy chair, legs tucked beneath her and reading a book. what book? a random one she snatched from the TARDIS library that gives some (very) truncated history on Gallifrey. why? because her husband has currently gone a mite bonkers and thinks himself someone else. it really, really sucks. so she's doing some reading and hoping to find some answers.

I don't know what you're trying to get at, but I've never thought or claimed anything of the sort.

And the Doctor - any Doctor - wouldn't purposely do something like this. He's better than that.

You cheated. [stops, remembering their previous conversation where Lucy told him the entire thing was false and one big scheme] Except you didn't did you?

[quiet for a moment, and then a bitter laugh]

You two were good though, you know I actually felt sorry for him. Felt guilty about knowing and not telling. And all that time, you both [and his voice just trails off, he's not really sure what he wants to say]

[a part of her really, really wants to tell him he's an idiot if he actually believed that, but she shoves it aside, because she's not about to let that cat out of the bag. not to Handy]

As I said: You always know the truth, don't you? Always so certain you know exactly what's happening.

[looks at her]

Do you really believe that I think that way?

He does. Why shouldn't you?

I just - I don't.

[quiet for a moment and then back to being defensive]

I don't need to defend myself to you.

And I don't need to explain myself to you.

I never asked you to.

Then why don't you just leave me alone?

Gladly. I just wanted to make sure the TARDIS and Donna were still all right while those two are playing at Rassilon and Omega.

[considers him, then goes back to her book, not meeting his gaze] Of course.

[she needs to stop that, it makes him want to get all ladfsjk, but he will attempt to keep his cool]

[and he drops]
