056: Revolution #9

[Hei is in his hut and is putting maps on the wall. One is a detailed map of Japan; the other is a slightly less detailed map of East Asia, including most of China, Indonesia and Japan. Once the maps are properly hung on a wall, Hei drops from the Plane and comes back with a plane desk, the surface empty save for a box of push pins and a yellow notepad with half of the papers torn out. Hei starts looking over the contents of the notepad and pushing push pins into various spots on both maps.]

[At one point he steps back and looks the maps over; there are pins in a few spots in Japan, two in China, and one in Tibet. Hei nods to himself, then drops from the Plane again. He's gone for a few minutes, popping back in to drop things off--Mao, a bowl of cat food, and finally a large platter of food for himself. Hei and Mao each dig into their own food, while Hei continues to flip through some of the notes.]

[Laughs.] I suppose I am. [Mao meows and trots over to start weaving his way around her ankles.] I guess Mao agrees.

What are all the marks for?

Contacts. Azure and Verde gave me a list of people in Japan who are in a similar situation as us. One of the problems right now is mobility; people need to get away from the Syndicate, but they can't. If we offer them contacts, they should be able to come north as well, or even leave the country. Sort of like...safehouses, or railway stations.

Dare I ask what you're plotting today?

Hi, Mu. I'm just trying to figure out where our allies are. Azure and Verde have decided to stay in Sapporo for the time, but they had a suggestion. Free Contractors need a safe way to move about...if they've just left the Syndicate, they won't have any contacts. So maybe if we can supply contacts, sort of like...like stations on a railway, they can get where they need to go.

The main thing is to figure out which of these people we can trust. [Hei gestures at the map.] There's always the chance some of them are spies for the Syndicate.

By the way, I think I prefer you without fangs.

To moves Contractors from place to place. If they can no longer rely on their Syndicate contacts, they're stuck. We need a way to get anti-Syndicate Contractors to safety.

[Hei tilts his head, actually wondering if he could.] Well, I think I like the rustic feel of this place, anyway. No running water, no electricity.

[Deadpool launches through the air, silverware drawn with intent to sample]

PREPARE YOURSELF!

[Whirls and throws a wire the moment he hears him coming. The wire wraps around the fork or whatever Deadpool is holding and he yanks, sending enough electricity down the wire to make Deadpool's hand numb in the same motion.]

Haven't you ever heard of asking politely?

[He lets the fork fall away to avoid shock as he shifts his weight into his other hand, holding a knife. He pokes it into the closest food item]

But this is so much more fun.

[HEI'S WONTON. BITCH YOU DID NOT. Hei clicks his tongue and throws another wire, twining the two together in one hand and yanking, hopefully tangling Deadpool's hands together. Hei uses the momentary distraction to ninja the wonton away with his own knife.]
