Ne, after talking to the twins, I have something nice for everyone! Since without a merger, it might be hard to talk to people here, I thought it'd be nice if we could at least send each other letters. So, according to the Twins, as long as you put the recipient's name on your letter and put it in here, it'll get there. Oh, and packages too, but they said that the things inside can't be alive, alright? Just anything you'd send through the mail normally!

{She hops off with a smile, tapping the top}

I hope that it's fun for everyone! I'll definitely be writing a few letters for some people. ♥

{As a thought} Ah, by the way! I decided to ask Amshel, since he knows more about that kind of stuff, and Amshel says that I wouldn't know. He said that he only felt like he wanted to be close to me, and he felt that way for a few months. So, if I get another Chevalier from PANDORA, he might have to die.

[Whoa, change of subject.] It might be for the best, then, assuming you're alright with it...but we'll deal with that when we come to it.

I know, but...it's worrisome. After they first become my Chevalier, it's dangerous.

{She twirls her hair around her finger} Not just for me, but for other people too. I think James reacted the worst, but after he became my Chevalier, I couldn't so much as be out of his sight. At least for my Chevalier all before, I was prepared because I knew what I was doing, but...

What does it entail, exactly?

[madamemoiselle]

It's different for all of them. They all say that they feel...like they want to be close to me. An attraction, I guess. So what that attraction makes them do, well, that depends on the human that they were.

Well, I mean, when I made Alexei my Chevalier, even though I killed him, he said that he loved me and he wanted me to stay with him in Russia and be his Empress. Amshel treated me like a princess, never letting me stray from his side, and always holding me like he was afraid I would break. Martin used me whenever he couldn't stand that feeling anymore. It just depends.

[Is silent awhile as he processes this.]

I see. Either way, an unexpected Chevalier would be troublesome.

[madamemoiselle]

{She nods} It's true, but I guess for now, we should both try to enjoy our vacation! Well, yours is a bit more of a vacation than mine, but it's still really nice to spend time with my Chevalier again. Ah, even if I have to wear funny things like this.

[Smiles.] I suppose we should, shouldn't we?

Of course. Ne, so what is Hei's island like? I've never been to a beach before.

[contract_star]

It's...well. The sand is very fine, and it's light, almost white. There's a jungle on the inner part of the island, lots of trees and strange plants. Lots of palm trees. There's a cliff down the coast...and there's a hut where I am, right near a sort of juice bar, but I haven't seen any people. No tracks or anything either. It's...well, aside from how strange it is, it's actually pretty peaceful. The water is so clear and blue.

{Smiles brightly} That sounds really nice, then! Are many beaches like that?

[contract_star]

There are all different kinds of beaches. Most of the ones I've been too have yellow sand, but I've heard of white-sand beaches and black-sand beaches.

[madamemoiselle]

Black-sand, really? Why is it black?

[contract_star]

It's volcanic. It happens in Hawaii, I think.

[madamemoiselle]

{Pronounced carefully} Volcanic? Why, I've never heard of that before.

[contract_star]

You've never heard of volcanoes?

[madamemoiselle]

{Shakes her head} Should I have?

I guess I just assumed... Volcanoes are mountains with molten rock called magma beneath them. It's basically rock that has been superheated to the point that it's become a liquid. Sometimes volcanoes erupt and the magma spits out as lava. Since it's a certain type of rock, when it cools it turns black. Eruptions can be really dangerous though, since the lava and the ash can kill people or destroy areas. Mt. Fuji is a volcano, actually, though it's dormant.

[madamemoiselle]

...That sounds really scary! Something like that really exists?

[contract_star]

Of course. A lot of land gets created by volcanoes, especially islands.

[madamemoiselle]

...They aren't common, though, are they? That's really scary, Hei!

[contract_star]

Well, no, they're not all that common. And in any case, you can usually tell when a volcano is nearby--or at the very least, you'd receive warning beforehand if it was going to erupt.

[madamemoiselle]

Well, that's a relief, then...Ne, I think I would die just of being scared. Mountains made of fire, that's really scary to me!

Sorry...I guess it would be, huh? But really, there aren't many active volcanoes left in places one would normally live, anyway.
