[There is a massive draft horse of indeterminate breeding on the plane. It does not look happy to be there. In fact all the vibes it's giving off are those of extreme displeasure. Its ears are back, the shuffling and snorting its doing a clear indication that it wants people to STAY AWAY. There are torn clothes on the ground, a broken belt--and the well-cared-for hilt of a sword showing above the battered scabbard in which the sword itself is sheathed.

Yeah. If you recognize the weapon she always carries, you might recognize the pissed-off expression on the horse's face.

Aniki has not had a good day.]

[She blinks, shifts uncomfortably. She is not sure she should feel complimented.]

[He pets her mane fondly.] Is this an experiment or just something from home? [ADD-] Really, that's a wonderful coat!

[She thumps her nose gently against his chest, then paws at her torn up clothes, trying to say it was something at home.]

[He's distracted by the nosebump.] Aw, want a sugar cube, Aniki? Might be able to get some carrots for you. Do you know I had a horse named Arthur, once? For a very short period of time, mind you, but I was going to keep him.

[She sighs and tugs his shirt lightly, pawing at the clothes again. Yes, Doctor, she is aware that you missed the point. And also she is trying to distract herself from how disturbingly tasty sugar and carrots sound.]

[Curious;] Would you like a blanket? I imagine going from clothes to no clothes and a horse is a bit odd.

[....sigh. She starts nosing at his pockets instead, giving up on conversation and choosing to both indulge her sweet tooth and his childish enthusiasm.]

[He's amused and digs into one of the pockets she isn't in.] Let's see if I can find...no, no, that's a marble...and that's dice. Hm, no, yo-yo...unicorn statue, candle snub- aha! [pulls out a sugar cube and holds it out.] Here you go, Aniki!

[She lips the cube up and startles slightly in surprise at the burst and flood of sweetness in her mouth. It's DELICIOUS. She crops at his hair appreciatively and goes back to nuzzling at his pockets, trying to sniff out more sugar cubes.]

[He beams and strokes her mane.] Good, aren't they? I should have more. [He digs in his pockets and finds another, holding it out.]

[She lips it up eagerly, leaning against him slightly. The horsey impulses are starting to win out over human sense at the moment.]

[He keeps petting her.] I imagine it won't last too long, really. And there are worse animals to be. Imagine being an anteater! Or a newt! Though you'd get better. But a horse is a very nice animal to be. [He gets her another sugar cube as he rambles.]

[The words are running together a bit, but the sound it soothing. She savors the sugar cube, thinking absently that something isn't right about the way he's talking. She thumps her nose against his chest. As long as he's given' up the goods, she's going to keep encouraging him to do it.]

[He's so amused.] Like those, eh? I haven't had many myself but I do love sugar. Especially in my tea. [He searches his pocket and digs out another for her.] Good thing you have such a big body now. I can't imagine this much sugar being good for you otherwise.

[Oh yes, good thing. She doesn't really understand what he's saying any more. The words are recognizable, if she strains, but it's so much easier to just let him keep talking while she insists on more sugar cubes.]

[He just keeps finding sugar cubes and giving them to her.] I do remember this one time, though, I was trying to make tea on Qaurtur and accidentally spilled the sugar bowl into the cup. And you know? It was a hit! They loved it!

[She just keeps eating the sugar, nuzzling his pockets and tugging at his clothes, lipping at his hair. She nuzzles his neck fondly, not understanding a word any more and thinking, rather absently, that there's something wrong with this situation, and she's knows what it is, but she can't quite place it. And the longer he talks, the less she cares anyway.

Nice voice, gentle hands, good treats.]

[He laughs as she nuzzles him, stroking her muzzle.] Oh, well, hello there! Enjoying my stories? Well, probably not as much as the sugar but I can hope. [He pats down his pockets and hums.] Actually, I have some celery and carrots. They're a favourite treat of the Eiliens. [Pulls out a plastic baggy and starts handing them to her.]

[Crunch, crunch, crunch. She's gone past caring about... about... whatever it was she was worrying about before. This is a good place to be. Good food. Nice man. He smells interesting, too, and his gentle petting sends a tingle of peace and happiness through her. She sighs, whickering happily.]

[He beams.] Oh good, you like them! They are rather good. You know, in my fifth, I wore celery. It takes quite the man to pull off the celery. Luckily, I've been that sort of man before. Now then, my favourite sort of celery, though, is the ones with peanut butter.

[She nuzzles him again, huffing cheerfully against his neck before skipping back a step and trotting in a circle around him, head bobbing between playful half-skips.]

[The Doctor watches her, amused and bright-eyed.] Oh well look at you! Enjoying that, aren't you? [He follows her, reaching out and giving her more enthusiastic pettings.] Maybe being a horse can be a bit of a holiday for you.

[She's having a hard time remembering his name. His smell is foremost in her mind now, the cadences of his voice and the feel of his hands. She flicks her ears back, unsure, uncomfortable, trying to think of his name.

She should know it. It's important.

Names. Names are important. Not just smell. Not just sound.

She takes a step back and shakes her head, a bit agitated. She still can't remember his name.]

[He tilts his head, frowning.] Something wrong, girl? [Pets her muzzle.] Aniki?

[She closes her eyes, trying to think. Her ears prick forward at the name. His questioning tone is indicative of something, but she's not sure what.]
