[Martha's apparently decided to sleep on the Plane now, and she's brought a bit of her surroundings with her. She's presently curled up beneath a bush, her head resting on a large pack and her coat wrapped tightly around her. She's asleep, clutching something with her right hand, but she sleeps lightly these days - approaching her will most definitely wake her up. The patch of land she's brought looks...well, dead would be the best way to describe it. Or like a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

A closer look at Martha herself might reveal that she's a bit younger than most of the Plane is used to, and possibly a little thinner. Her face is pale and drawn, and she does not look like she's been sleeping well for...well, months, probably. Add in a bit of stress (or a lot of stress), and it's fairly easy to tell that she lives her life close to her breaking point.]

[Ianto hovers uncertainly. He's not too sure about waking her, but leaving her to sleep on the Plane doesn't really seem like a good idea... especially considering who might be around.]

[Oh, well, you know how it is with bushes... one moment you're sleeping under it, and the next your body is being pulled out from a canal five miles away. It's hiding her well enough that he hasn't noticed her eyes are open at least?

He has seen her shift though, and decides to approach.]

[Martha doesn't remember who Ianto is, alas, but he's still better than a Toclafane, as far as she's concerned. She keeps eyeing him warily as he draws closer.]

[the Doctor has his nose planted in a book as he heads over to where Martha is. "Popular Theories on Human Brain Development"---not because humans puzzle him or anything]

You shouldn't just be sleeping here, you know. Hardly the safest place!

[and she's awake and sitting bolt upright in a flash] Doctor?! What are you doing here? Oh, God, are you all right?

[looks over to her in surprise and notices her appearance---yeah, yeah, insert comment about noticing things a little too late]

I-I'm all right---Martha, what happened to you?

[crouches next to her]

[she gives him a clinging hug, probably almost knocking him over in the process] Thank God! I was so worried - what if you'd died somehow? [she takes a deep breath, trying to calm herself] What about Mum and Dad and Tish?

[startled by the hug, falling backwards with the force of it]

I-I'm all right, really. And I'm sure they're all right. I'm---

Martha, did something happen?

[sees Martha and since she hasn't bothered her favourite Jones in a while, she makes her way over, idly kicking the other woman while she sleeps]

[and she jerks awake just as the kick connects, grabbing at Lucy's leg]

[well that startles her and Lucy hobbles, only barely keeping herself from falling] Good morning, Miss Jones.

[Martha glares at her, and it's only the thought of keeping her family safe that keeps her from tackling Lucy to the ground and taking out all her pent-up frustration on her] I can't escape from you anywhere, can I?

[no, Martha is not all right. Now she's graduated to huddling under her bush, though the bar is starting to sound rather tempting, as she hasn't had a drink in God knows how long - but she can't have a drink now, since she has to keep going. She's been nearly pushed to her breaking point, and now she's simply staring at Handy with wide, dark eyes.]
